A big day in my career milestone and a meaningful step for one very brave young patient.

On 4th of June 2025, I had the opportunity to perform a complex surgery — Laparotomy Salpihingoophrectomy, omentectomy, lymphedenectomy and Appendicectomy + Egg Harvesting — with the support of an incredible multidisciplinary team.

This case was particularly special. The patient had previously undergone an oophorectomy on her other o***y, and this procedure was her chance at preserving her fertility for the future. With coordination from the team at UKM, we harvested viable ovarian tissue for future implantation and possible conception — a first of its kind at Assunta Hospital.

My deepest thanks to Dr Lourdes Dava Raj, Medical Director of Assunta Hospital, for his full support and belief in this effort.
To Prof Madya Dr Mohd Faizal Ahmad and Dr Gopi from the amazing fertility team at UKM.
