It was a great opportunity for our founder and CEO, Martin Yap, to participate in the IIB Thematic Talk & Networking Series 2.0: Healthcare & Wellness hosted by Iskandar Investment Berhad - IIB! Together with friends and new faces, he was part of an incredible panel of experts to discuss "From Ideas to Impact: The Role of Capital, Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Advancing Health & Wellness Across the Region".

Visit โ€” Blending the arts with the art of care ๐ŸŒŸ

It was a pleasure to have Dr Arjun Thanaraju (Lecturer in Psychology at Sunway University) & Dr Danielle Collingridge Moore (Research Fellow based at the International Observatory on End of Life Care, Lancaster University) for a field visit and discussion session at Komune Care! As part of an upcoming initiative, they're exploring how arts-based approaches (especially performing arts) can support the well-being and quality of life of seniors in residential care settings. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Hosted by Leroy Chiam (GM of Residence Care, our assisted living division) together with Muntoh Fong (GM of Komune Care), Keegan Lim (GM of Care Concierge Academy) and Rachel Chua (Senior Marketing Executive), we kicked off the visit with a tour of Komune Careโ€™s assisted living units and dedicated senior daycare space. โœจ

Along the way and after the tour, we discussed everything senior care related from senior care options, the healthcare system, governmental support to professional caregiving training, exchanging notes with them on both Malaysia and the UK. Being a industry veteran, Muntoh also offered helpful advice on implementation considerations of the arts-based approaches to ensure it is practical and sustainable. ๐Ÿ’ฏ
