It is common to have increased whitish discharge in pregnancy. It happens because of hormonal changes and increased blood flow to the vaginal area.

How do I know it could be abnormal ?
Abnormal discharge may be concerning if more watery than usual, change in color, foul-smell, itching and passage of mucous.
Abnormal discharge not always associated with infection. It can be sign of fluid leakage or preterm birth.
Preterm birth almost always begins with abnormal discharge.

Preeclampsia affects 2–4% of pregnancies, but it can be predicted as early as 11–13 weeks through specialized scans and blood tests.

High-risk patients will receive risk-reduction treatments and medical advice, which can lower the risk by up to 65%. For others, routine care with regular blood pressure and urine checks is essential for early detection.

Early action saves lives. If you had preeclampsia in a past pregnancy or have other risk factors, speak to your doctor about a prevention plan.
