On March 23rd, our team at Evagale Care Home had the privilege of participating in the "Hari Bersama Agecope," an inspiring event organized by the Association for Residential Aged Care Operators of Malaysia (Agecope).

This gathering was not just an event, but a convergence of ideas and passion aimed at enhancing the welfare of our elderly. We engaged in enriching dialogues, shared innovative care strategies, and built connections with peers who are equally committed to the advancement of aged care services.

At Evagayle, our mission is to relentlessly pursue improvement in the care standards for our elderly residents. This aligns seamlessly with Agecope's initiatives, as we work closely with relevant ministries and agencies to foster positive reforms within the industry.

Embracing Agecope's vision, we strive for a future where quality health care for the elderly is a given, and where our contributions help shape an industry capable of providing affordable, high-quality care.

As Malaysia rapidly approaches the status of an ageing nation by 2030, with 15.3% of the population aged 60 and above, the focus on aged care becomes imperative. The anticipated shift highlights the need for strategic measures, such as revenue from the Social Security Tax (SST) expansion, to support and benefit the growing elderly population, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the healthcare sector for a healthier and more sustainable future.

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 12): The additional revenue from sales and service tax (SST) expansion to 8.0% from 6.0% effective March 1, 2024 can benefit the rakyat in the form of cash aid, urban infrastructure and healthcare, amid the ageing population in the country.
