Our Medical Negligence team, Jason Lim, Joyce Wong, and Tharani Kunasekaran, recently participated in the 2026 Sarawak Medico-Legal Conference held on 16–17 May 2026 at the Mercure Miri City Centre. The conference brought together healthcare professionals, medico-legal practitioners, and industry experts to discuss current developments and emerging issues in healthcare and medical law.

The conference also featured our Consultant, Dato’ Mah Weng Kwai, as both a speaker and panellist, where he shared his perspectives and experience in medico-legal practice and litigation.

It was a valuable opportunity to discuss patient safety, professional accountability, medical ethics, and the evolving medico-legal landscape.

We are pleased to share that our Senior Associate and Head of the Medical & Personal Injury Department, Jeremy Balang, was invited to speak at the "Kursus Pengukuhan Pampasan Perubatan: No-Fault Compensation bagi Memperkasa Pengurusan Keselamatan Pesakit dalam KKM", organised by the Institut Pengurusan Kesihatan (IHM) at the National Institutes of Health, on 28 April 2026.

Jeremy's session examined the policy and legal considerations surrounding the potential implementation of a no-fault compensation system in Malaysia.
