FOCUS4Sight: Clear Vision, Focused Education

Vision shapes opportunity.

On 11 March 2026, SK Lumba Kuda, Kuching joined the FOCUS4Sight School Vision Project, an initiative dedicated to ensuring that children have the visual clarity they need to succeed in school and beyond.

In many classrooms, students face learning challenges that are not always visible. Sometimes, the real obstacle is simply the inability to see the board, read classroom materials, or focus comfortably during lessons.

To help remove this barrier, Focus Point collaborated with IJM Land to conduct structured eye screenings at the school. Through this effort, 80 students were screened, and 31 students were identified as requiring prescription eyewear to support their daily learning.

Professional optometry services and follow-up support were provided with the assistance of FP Vivacity Kuching and FP AEON Kuching Central, ensuring that students who need vision correction receive the proper care and attention.

The initiative demonstrates how organisations can work together to address real community needs by combining expertise, resources, and shared commitment. Meaningful and lasting social impact is built through collaboration and a common goal, creating opportunities for every child to learn without unnecessary barriers.

Because when children can see clearly, they engage more confidently in their education, and with confidence comes the foundation for a brighter future.

FOCUS4Sight: Clear vision. Brighter possibilities.

On 9 March 2026, SMK Seri Pantai became one of the schools participating in the FOCUS4Sight School Vision Project, an initiative driven by the belief that every child deserves the ability to learn with clarity and confidence.

In many classrooms, students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they cannot clearly see the whiteboard or their textbooks. What may appear as a lack of attention or motivation is often simply a matter of poor eyesight.

To address this often-overlooked challenge, Focus Point partnered with IJM Land to bring structured eye health screening and follow-up support to the school.

Through this initiative, 50 students from SMK Seri Pantai were screened, with 34 students identified to receive prescription eyewear to support their learning.

With lenses and frames generously sponsored by HOYA, and professional optometry support provided by our ECC team and Focus Point Midvalley, the programme ensures that students who require visual correction receive the assistance they need, turning screenings into real, tangible outcomes.

When a child can see clearly, learning becomes easier. And when learning becomes easier, the path to a brighter future opens wider.
