🍃A Moment of Care for Caregivers 🍃

This is for all the hardworking caregivers: a moment to honour yourself with wellness and warm support. The wonderful people at Malaysia Mind Body Medicine Practitioners Association invites you to participate in their upcoming initiative, “Caring for Caregivers,” a heartfelt wellness program designed to honor and uplift those who dedicate themselves to the care of others - often at the expense of their own well-being.

Caregivers face immense emotional and physical demands, and this event is our way of giving back. Through mindfulness training, breakout sessions, and a special appreciation lunch, we aim to create a restorative space for reflection, connection, and renewal.

🗓 Event Dates & Locations:
4 Oct – Menara Ecoworld, Bukit Bintang
12 Oct – Ecoworld, Puncak Alam
18 Oct – Penang Institute, Pulau Pinang
25 Oct – Zenang Institution School, Johor Bahru

Tema sambutan tahun ini ialah “Ask about Dementia; Ask about Alzheimer’s” bagi mematahkan stigma dan memupuk rasa ingin tahu tentang kondisi demensia yang dialami oleh ramai orang, terutamanya warga emas.

Pengetahuan am tentang demensia seringkali terhad kepada tanggapan ia hanya satu penyakit “pelupa” atau masalah ingatan. Sebenarnya, penghidap demensia boleh mengalami gangguan kognitif yang lebih meluas yang mengganggu fungsi dan kebolehan seseorang dari segi fizikal, emosi dan sosial juga. Ini adalah akibat daripada gangguan pada fungsi otak.

Demensia boleh muncul secara halus dan berperingkat, atau secara mendadak. Penting untuk kita tahu, sokongan sosial kepada penghidap demensia adalah sesuatu yang cukup mencabar, tapi merupakan kunci untuk mereka mendapatkan peluang menjalani kehidupan sebaik mungkin.

Antara 3 fakta yang anda mungkin tidak tahu adalah:

🔸 Alzheimer’s hanyalah satu dari beberapa jenis dan punca demensia 📝
🔸 Kajian menunjukkan faktor keturunan boleh mempengaruhi demensia Alzheimer’s 🧬
