The National Trauma Transformation Roadshow is delighted to announce Dr. Tiong Vun-E as a featured symposium speaker. Her participation enriches this crucial event with her distinguished expertise as a General and Trauma Surgeon.

Dr. Tiong Vun-E is a distinguished General and Trauma Surgeon at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang, where she also serves as the Head of Department. She completed a prestigious Fellowship in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery in Malaysia and New Zealand.

She is an active member of the Academy of Asian Collaboration for Trauma (ACT), Trauma Surgery Society of Malaysia (TSSM), the International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSI), and the College of Surgeon Malaysia, Academy of Medicine, Malaysia.

Dr. Tiong is a passionate advocate for excellence in trauma care and education, serving as an instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC), Care of Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CRISP), and Stop the Bleed Course by the American College of Surgeon.

Dr. Tiong emphasizes that Trauma Team Activation (TTA) is a vital emergency department process, immediately mobilizing a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, resuscitate, and deliver definitive care for severely injured patients. Proven globally to reduce both mortality and morbidity, TTA is a cornerstone of effective trauma management.

The National Trauma Transformation Roadshow is delighted to announce Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Bin Kamal Batcha as a featured symposium speaker. His participation enriches this crucial event with his highly respected expertise as a Consultant Emergency and Trauma Physician.

Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim currently serves at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. In his pursuit of excellence in trauma care, he undertook a Trauma Fellowship at The Royal London Hospital, United Kingdom in 2021. He subsequently completed his subspecialty training in Emergency Trauma Care under the Ministry of Health Malaysia in the same year. Most recently, he further distinguished himself by earning a Master of Science in Trauma Sciences from Queen Mary University of London.

Dr. Ahmad has a special interest in Traumatic Coagulopathy and Blood Transfusion. He continues to contribute significantly to advancing trauma care and education in Malaysia.

Dr. Ahmad emphasizes that rapid identification and control of life-threatening hemorrhage are the single most impactful interventions for improving survival in severely injured patients. He states that achieving hemostasis is the foundational step that makes all other resuscitative efforts meaningful and enables the patient's survival.

The National Trauma Transformation Roadshow is delighted to announce Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naveen A/L Rajadurai

as a featured symposium speaker. His participation enriches this crucial event with over 20 years of experience in medicine.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naveen is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist. He completed his subspecialty training under the Ministry of Health Malaysia and further advanced his expertise in Cryoablation of Bone and Soft Tissue Tumours in Strasbourg, France, as well as spine intervention in Naples, Italy.

He is currently practicing at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital 2. In addition to his clinical role, he serves as the President of the Malaysian Society of Interventional Radiology (MYSIR) and is a Life Member of the Malaysian Society of Interventional Pain Practitioners (MSIPP). His core interests lie in Minimally Invasive Procedures and Oncological Pain Interventions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Naveen emphasizes that in severe trauma, rapid and definitive imaging is an indispensable cornerstone of patient management, fundamentally altering the trajectory of care. This capability is pivotal in guiding effective resuscitation strategies, prioritizing surgical interventions, and facilitating critical multidisciplinary decision-making, thereby significantly enhancing the chances of survival and optimizing outcomes in critically injured patients.

The National Trauma Transformation Roadshow is delighted to announce Mr. Kevin Peter Ryapan as a featured symposium speaker. His participation enriches this crucial event with extensive experience in emergency and pre-hospital care, particularly in the vital area of empowering communities as first responders.

Mr. Kevin Peter began his journey with St. John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM) as a volunteer in 1990. He has since taken on numerous volunteer roles at the district, state, and national levels. Currently, he holds the positions of Chief of Cadets and Executive Manager for the Administrative Office at SJAM. In recognition of his dedicated service to SJAM, he was appointed Serving Brother of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem by the late Queen of England in 2017.

Presently, Mr. Peter serves as the National Coordinator for the Pre-Hospital Care and Ambulance Hotspot service for the Ministry of Health (MOH). He is also the coordinator for the National Community AED Program.

Mr. Peter is a fervent advocate for empowering Malaysian communities to act as effective responders in emergency trauma care. He emphasizes that this initiative signifies a crucial paradigm shift, moving beyond sole reliance on traditional professional medical services by harnessing the capabilities of ordinary citizens. By equipping individuals with essential skills such as haemorrhage control, basic first aid, and Basic Life Support (BLS), communities can transform into an invaluable network of first responders.
