A truly amazing work day filled with fun and laughter at Workday!

My recent visit to Workday was a truly unforgettable experience. As soon as I stepped into their aesthetically pleasing and elegant office, I knew I was in for a great day. The employees’ warmth and enthusiasm immediately put me at ease.

I was honored to lead a laughter yoga workshop for the Workday team. Their curiosity and spontaneity made the session a blast for everyone involved. We covered the basics of laughter yoga, including yoga breathing and laughter exercises. The Bollywood laughter dance was a particular hit!

After an hour of laughter, we added a half-hour bonus session to explore individual self-care. Participants learned about personalized self-care planning and engaged in a guided visualization to help them integrate their plans into their daily lives.

The workshop concluded with a Q&A session and a reflection on what participants had learned. Based on their feedback, it was clear that the workshop had been a positive and valuable experience.

Another grateful moment to share topics on stress management and finding calmness with over 100 ADA employees.

In the webinar, I also guided them through planning their own self-care practices.

Self-care is a topic close to my heart and I believe it's a crucial component of our lives that we need to prioritize more. Self-care isn't self-indulgence or being selfish but a way to manage stress and build resilience.

《MBMPA Symposium - Harmony in Healing》
After over a month of preparation, the 2024 Malaysia Mind-Body Medicine Practitioners Association (MBMPA) Symposium titled "Harmony in Healing" came to a successful conclusion last Saturday. I felt honoured to be part of the organizing committee and even more so to co-facilitate a session on "Bringing the Body Back Online for Health and Wellbeing" with my partner, Sindy Yip. While not our first collaboration, the synergy we shared during the short session was truly special. 👯‍♀️

The session explored the common experience of disconnection from our bodies due to stress, trauma, or challenging situations. I then offered methods for increasing awareness of bodily sensations and needs, with a particular focus on mindful movement. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️As a candidate in the Mindfulness teaching course by UK Breathworks, I was excited to integrate what I've learned about mindful movement into the session. 🧘🏻🧘‍♀️🧘🏻‍♂️

Interestingly, Adam Grant's observation that teaching enhances learning proved true. Leading this symposium session not only allowed me to share my knowledge but also deepened my own understanding of mindful movement and its applications. In reflecting on the experience, I've already identified areas for improvement should I have the opportunity to revisit this topic. While I may not be an expert yet, my passion fuels my determination to keep learning and growing. 💗📈

Sindy then concluded our session by guiding the participants through a practice of tapping the face and body to relieve stress and tension. The lively interest was evident in the numerous questions posed at the end, highlighting the effectiveness of her approach. 💆‍♀️💆🏻‍♂️

I am incredibly grateful for the active participation from the audience. It is my sincere hope that my humble sharing offered them some benefit. ☘️🪷

A few days ago, I received an unexpected WhatsApp message from a young guy.

He came to me end of last year for 2 sessions.

He was struggling financially back then and all I wanted was to help him.

Ever since I'd been wondering about his progress, not expecting him to update me proactively. So, his message was a wonderful surprise! I am so happy that he is back on his feet and doing well.

It's truly amazing how people can tap into their hidden strengths to overcome challenges. As a therapist, all I do is to provide a good climate for change (as how Milton Erickson put it).

His gratitude in the message was especially touching. These are the moments that reinforce the meaning and value of my work.

Today, I had a session with a client, employing a unique blend of metaphoric cards, , and techniques. When the client entered my therapy room, he was visibly exhausted, weighed down by sorrow and a deep sense of despair. However, after our session, there was a remarkable transformation – he left feeling rejuvenated and lighter.

At the beginning of our session, the client shared his overwhelming sense of hopelessness. But as we delved into the therapeutic process, using metaphoric cards as a powerful tool to tap into his subconscious mind, coupled with hypnosis and mindfulness, a significant shift occurred. By the end of the session, the client expressed a newfound sense of hope and optimism.

The incorporation of metaphoric cards into my therapy sessions has proven to be incredibly impactful. These cards serve as a gateway to discovering hidden strengths and viable solutions residing within the subconscious. When combined with hypnosis, they create a synergy that reinforces the positive changes we initiate during our sessions. It's truly remarkable how this addition has elevated my work with clients, bringing about profound transformations that words alone cannot capture.
