Heat Waves can be a serious threat to us especially the elderly, pregnant individuals and people who are constantly exposed to outdoors. It can also lead to minor issues such as headaches, sorethroat, chapped lips and nose bleed. There are few measures that we can take to prevent this , such as:
1. Avoid outdoor activities, switch to indoor exercises and try to stay indoors in a well ventilated or air conditioned room.
2. Take frequent cold water showers or get a wet towel for your neck areas.
3. Consume more water even if you don't feel thirsty. You can drink coconut water which is rich in electrolytes.
4. Avoid heavy oily and spicy food.
5. Cut down on alcohols. Go for sparkling water with lemon instead.
6. Wear light cotton clothing and avoid dark colours as it traps heat.
7. Check on your elderly neighbours or family members to see if they are OK. And dont forget to hydrate your pets too.
8. Finally leave a basin of water outside in a shaded area for the birds to cool down.

3.Avoid processed and sugary foods: Processed and sugary foods can cause blood sugar spikes and crashes, which can lead to fatigue and hunger during fasting hours.
4.Eat slowly and mindfully: Eating slowly and mindfully can help you to better tune into your body's hunger and fullness signals, and can prevent overeating.
5.Include healthy fats: Healthy fats, such as those found in nuts, seeds, and avocado, can help to keep you feeling full and satisfied during fasting hours.
6.Avoid caffeine and to***co: Caffeine and to***co can increase dehydration and can cause withdrawal symptoms during fasting hours. It's best to avoid them during Ramadan.
