👁️ In celebration of World Sight Day, OasisEye Specialists Puchong took a proactive step toward nurturing healthy vision by conducting free eye screenings at a kindergarten in Puchong.

Early eye screening plays a crucial role in a child’s development. Vision problems often go unnoticed in young children, yet they can significantly impact learning, behavior, and overall quality of life. By identifying issues such as lazy eye (amblyopia), refractive errors, or strabismus early on, we can ensure timely intervention and prevent long-term complications.

The EACCME-Accredited Intensive Mini Fellowship in Refractive Surgery: LASIK, Presbyopia Correction & SMILE - the first iteration of the London Vision Clinic Forefront Refractive Surgery Course to be held in Bangalore, India was attended by our energetic team of refractive specialists, Dr. Norazah and Dr. Rawindar Singh Ranu. This specialized course was the result of a collaborative initiative between the Nethradhama Super Specialty Eye Hospital and the renowned London Vision Clinic.

Our esteemed refractive surgeons, Dr. Khaw Hoon Hoon, Dr. Julian Tagal, and Dr. Rawindar Singh Ranu, recently participated in the 43rd Congress of the European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Dr. Khaw was an invited speaker, sharing a case discussion with Professor Dan Reinstein during the "Therapeutic Refractive Surgery…Live! Bring Your Case" session. Concurrently, Dr. Tagal presented his findings on the initial outcomes of transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy. His presentation compared the PROSCAN aspheric treatment from Bausch + Lomb with the new OCTAVIUS topography-optimized treatment.

🔍 Wondering when to schedule an eye exam?
Here’s what the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends:

✅ 6–12 months: First comprehensive eye exam
✅ Ages 3–5: At least once to check for vision issues like amblyopia
✅ Before 1st grade (around 5–6 yrs): Full exam for school readiness
✅ Every 1–2 years after school starts: More often if vision problems are found
