🆘 If someone collapses in front of you, would you know what to do?
🚨 Emergencies happen fast, and the first few minutes often make the biggest difference.
That’s why everyone should understand the basics of the DRSABCD approach, a simple guide that helps you take action safely.
Before you help, always check what’s around you. Make sure the environment is safe for you and the person in trouble.
Then try to wake them, call out, tap their shoulder, and see if they respond.
If they’re not reacting, call 999 immediately and let the dispatcher guide you step by step.
Open the airway by tilting the head and lifting the chin, then quickly check for normal breathing.
If they’re not breathing properly, begin chest compressions right away. Push firmly in the centre of the chest, keep a steady rhythm, and continue without stopping.
And if an AED is available, turn it on and follow the instructions, the device will tell you exactly what to do.
⚠️ You don’t need medical training to help someone.
⚠️ You just need to stay calm, act fast, and remember the basics.
