JOB VACANCY: PROCUREMENT ENGINEER
The Procurement Engineer would be responsible for the entire process of getting the necessary parts and components to manufacture the medical devices, which involves planning and sourcing. This involves optimizing inventory, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sourcing and Procurement:
Identifying, negotiating with, and selecting suppliers for materials and components, focusing on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Supplier Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and communication.
• Cost Management:
Analyzing costs throughout the supply chain and implementing strategies to reduce overall expenses.
• Risk Management:
Identifying and mitigating potential risks to the supply chain, such as supplier failures, disruptions, or regulatory changes.
• Planning and Demand Forecasting:
Analyzing market trends and demand to accurately forecast future needs for materials and components, ensuring production runs smoothly.
• Inventory Management:
Optimizing inventory levels to minimize costs and avoid shortages, potentially implementing vendor-managed inventory programs.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or supply chain management.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar capacity.
• Strong technical knowledge: able to identify parts in BOM, read drawing, understand product/engineering specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills: To build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Understanding of relevant regulations and standards: To ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
Specific to Electromechanical Medical Devices:
• Understanding of the unique challenges of the medical device industry: Regulations, quality standards, and potential liability.
• Knowledge of the specific components and materials used in electro-mechanical devices: Such as electronic components, sensors, actuators, and enclosures.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams: Including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
• Able to read/write/speak in Mandarin would be preferred.
