Paralysed man walks again after receiving ‘reprogrammed’ stem cells.

A groundbreaking trial has shown promising results in treating spinal cord injuries using reprogrammed neural stem cells.

A Japanese man, one of four participants in the trial, can now stand on his own after receiving the innovative treatment.

Another participant has regained movement in his arms and legs.

The trial, led by Hideyuki Okano, a stem-cell scientist at Keio University in Tokyo, used induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells to treat patients with spinal cord injuries.

The results, announced on March 21, suggest that the treatment is safe, although larger trials are needed to confirm its effectiveness.

According to James St John, a translational neuroscientist at Griffith University, "That's a great positive outcome.

It's very exciting for the field." However, St John also notes that previous trials using other types of stem cells have shown mixed results, and it's possible that the patients experienced a natural recovery.

The trial used iPS cells derived from a donor to create neural precursor cells, which were then injected into the patients' injury sites.

The goal was to encourage these cells to develop into neurons and glial cells, promoting tissue regeneration.

With approximately 0.9 million people globally experiencing spinal cord injuries each year, and 20 million living with the condition, this breakthrough offers new hope for those affected.

While more research is needed, this trial marks a significant step forward in the quest to develop effective treatments for spinal cord injuries.

Chinese biotech company XellSmart has received approval from both the U.S. FDA and China’s NMPA to start a Phase I clinical trial for a new spinal cord injury treatment.

The therapy uses donor stem cells (not from the patient) to help regenerate damaged spinal tissue, aiming to restore function—not just manage symptoms like older treatments.

The trial is being done with Sun Yat-sen University's Third Affiliated Hospital, a top center for spinal cord research.

This first phase will test the treatment’s safety, effectiveness, and proper dosage. If it goes well, larger trials will follow, and the therapy could be available in 5 to 7 years.

Cancer Stem Cells. When it comes to truly healing from cancer, one of the most important yet overlooked truths is this: if you don’t remove the cancer stem cells, the cancer often comes back—stronger and more aggressive. Read that again. These tiny but powerful cells act like the "root system" of cancer, quietly hiding, resisting treatment, and later sparking recurrence or spreading to other areas of the body. Unfortunately, conventional medicine currently has no therapies designed to effectively eliminate these cancer stem cells. While traditional treatments may shrink tumors and kill off regular cancer cells, they often leave the stem cells untouched—meaning the door to recurrence remains wide open. And curing cancer should never be about killing cancer cells and tumors since the cancer cells multiply fast and furious. Yet this is precisely what we are told.

The good news is that God designed your body with a remarkable ability to heal, especially when supported by organic and plant-based nutrition, detoxification, and plant-based compounds known to target these stubborn stem cells. At Oasis Advanced Wellness, we believe in addressing the root cause of disease and whole-body terrain, not just the surface symptoms. There is hope, and there are natural tools that can support your body's innate healing ability—without harmful side effects. When you nourish your cells, support your immune system, and use the wisdom of nature, healing becomes not just a possibility but an accurate expectation with no everlasting side effects from toxic chemotherapy that often lasts a lifetime.

Upgraded Healing Potential: Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy Explained

Have you ever imagined a treatment that could unlock your body’s innate ability to heal, offering new hope in the face of chronic conditions? Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy is not just a concept but a groundbreaking reality, harnessing the power of your own cells to rejuvenate and repair. Imagine these stem cells as the architects of regeneration, seamlessly integrating into damaged tissues to promote healing.

Conditions Treated with Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy

MSC therapy is versatile and can be applied to a wide range of medical conditions, including:

Arthritis: MSCs help regenerate cartilage and reduce inflammation, providing relief from pain and improving joint function in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Chronic Pain: Conditions such as chronic back pain, joint pain, and tendon injuries benefit from the anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects of MSCs, leading to pain relief and tissue repair.

Autoimmune Diseases: MSCs’ immunomodulatory properties make them effective in managing autoimmune conditions like multiple sclerosis, lupus, and Crohn’s disease, reducing immune system attacks on the body’s tissues.

Orthopedic Injuries: MSC therapy aids in the repair of bone fractures, ligament tears, and other musculoskeletal injuries, promoting faster recovery and tissue regeneration.

Cardiovascular Diseases: MSCs can improve heart function and repair damaged heart tissue, offering potential benefits for conditions like heart failure and myocardial infarction.

Neurological Disorders: MSCs show promise in treating neurological conditions such as spinal cord injuries, stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases by promoting neural repair and reducing inflammation.

More people now turn to stem cell therapy to treat various conditions. And to eliminate the issue of finding a donor, this company stores and preserves umbilical cord blood and stem cells for future use should the need arise.

Paralyzed man who can walk again shows potential benefit of stem cell therapy
A man who was paralyzed from the neck down after a surfing accident seven years ago is now able to stand and walk on his own, thanks in part to a potentially groundbreaking stem cell treatment.
Chris Barr was the very first patient in a Mayo Clinic study that collected stem cells from his own stomach fat, expanded them in a laboratory to 100 million cells and then injected the cells into Barr's lumbar spine.

Over five years after undergoing the therapy, Barr said he is continuing to gain more independence and get faster at walking.
"I never dreamed I would have a recovery like this," Barr told ABC News' Will Reeve. "I can feed myself. I can walk around. I can do day-to-day independent activities."

Barr shared an update with Reeve on his own progress as Mayo Clinic published new data showing the success of the stem cell treatment in a clinical trial involving 10 patients, including Barr.
The newly published results of the study show that of the seven patients who saw improvement after the stem cell therapy, each moved up at least one level on the American Spinal Injury Association -- or ASIA -- Impairment Scale, which has five levels documenting patients' function.

"This trial shows us that stem cells are safe and potentially beneficial in the treatment of spinal cord injury," Bydon said. "This can be a milestone in our field of neurosurgery, neuroscience and of treating patients with spinal cord injury."
