Can Dirty Air Affect Your Mood? 🌫🧠

The air you breathe can do more than harm your lungs, it can quietly change the way your brain works.

When the air is polluted, tiny toxic particles enter your body every time you inhale.
They don’t just stay in your lungs, they travel through your bloodstream and reach your brain.

Once inside, they can reduce oxygen, cause inflammation, and disturb your brain’s natural balance.
Over time, this can make you feel more tired, anxious, or even depressed,
without you realising that the air around you could be the cause.

It’s not just about bad weather days or smoky skies.
Even low levels of air pollution, over time, can affect your focus, memory, and emotional wellbeing.

Clean air isn’t only about breathing easier.
It’s about thinking clearer, feeling happier, and protecting the minds of the next generation.

Because your mental health starts with every breath you take.

According to WHO, Malaysia’s air quality has exceeded WHO’s safety limits.

Invisible, but deadly, the air we breathe is far from safe.

☁️ PM2.5 levels are 3x higher than WHO’s guideline.
🌫 PM10 levels are more than double the safe limit.
💨 NO₂, SO₂, and CO concentrations have all surpassed global standards.

It’s time to face the truth: our air is not clean.

SWO has been closely monitoring air quality across Malaysia. This week’s data reveals concerning levels of air pollution, especially in areas like Kuala Lumpur (AQI: 185 – Unhealthy) and Sungai Petani (AQI: 155 – Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups) on 7 Oct 2025 at 11pm.

Klang also recorded consistently high Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels throughout the week, peaking at 4210 ppbv on 8 Oct 2025.
Meanwhile, Iskandar Puteri also recorded elevated CO levels, reaching 1710 ppbv on 9 Oct 2025.

💨 Long-term exposure to high air pollution levels, especially CO, can have serious health effects particularly for children, the elderly, and people with respiratory issues.

🌿 This update is part of our Clean Air Campaign, reminding everyone that the air we breathe matters. Let’s stay informed, take precautions, and push for cleaner air for all.

Ever felt dizzy, tired, or mentally drained after being stuck in traffic, near factories, or around industrial areas?
That’s not your imagination, it’s science.

Air pollution doesn’t just choke your lungs, it clouds your mind.

Every breath we take in polluted air carries invisible toxins:
🌫 PM2.5 – tiny particles that enter your bloodstream, travel to your brain, and trigger inflammation linked to anxiety, depression, and memory loss.
🚗 CO (Carbon Monoxide) – starves your brain of oxygen, causing fatigue, confusion, poor concentration, and headaches.
🚦 NO₂ (Nitrogen Dioxide) – mainly from vehicle exhaust, it damages brain cells and is linked to cognitive decline over time.
🏭 SO₂ (Sulfur Dioxide) – released from factories and power plants, it irritates your airways and makes it harder to breathe, and think clearly.

These pollutants aren’t just outside. They slip into our homes, schools, and workplaces.
We breathe them every day without realizing the toll they take on our body and mind.

The Science & Wellness Organisation (SWO) is leading the Clean Air Campaign to raise awareness and fight for cleaner air for all.

Because clean air doesn’t just protect your lungs. It protects your peace of mind.

Do you always feel moody, anxious, or easily frustrated even when nothing’s really wrong?
Do you wake up tired, irritated, or mentally foggy for no reason?

It might not just be stress.
It could be the air you’re breathing.

Polluted air doesn’t only harm your lungs, it seeps into your brain.
It can trigger fatigue, confusion, anxiety… and even depression.

We can’t always see it, but we feel it every single day.

The Science & Wellness Organisation (SWO) is fighting back through the Clean Air Campaign, to protect not only our environment, but our mental health too.

Because clean air is not a privilege, it’s a basic human right.

Every Breath Counts , Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late. 💨

Did you know that air pollution is one of Malaysia’s silent killers?
Every year, millions of Malaysians breathe air filled with invisible toxins, from vehicle emissions, open burning, and industrial smoke. 🌫

This polluted air doesn’t just harm the environment, it harms you. It increases the risk of asthma, lung disease, heart problems, and even mental health issues. And the most affected are always the most vulnerable, children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses.

But here’s the truth: clean air is still possible.
When we take action together, we can reduce pollution, raise awareness, and push for stronger air quality standards across the nation. 🌏

Malaysia’s Air Quality Is Deteriorating

Our monitoring shows unhealthy and very unhealthy PM2.5 levels across Klang, George Town, Iskandar Puteri, and Mersing.

Why it matters? Poor air quality is linked to pneumonia, asthma, heart disease, and thousands of preventable deaths in Malaysia every year.

💡 Protect yourself & your family:
- Limit outdoor activities
- Wear a proper mask
- Use indoor air filters

Clean air is not optional. Clean air is a right.

This update is part of SWO’s Clean Air Campaign, pushing for healthier communities and safer air for all Malaysians.

EVERYONE CAN DO CHARITY... RM10 A MONTH ONLY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN RURAL SCHOOL CHILDREN LIFE

Everyone would like to go to school so that one could change or improvised current life and family well being. But not everyone could afford a fully finished school or even to attend school.
