A removable denture is an appliance made to replace missing teeth. ๐Ÿคฉ It can be either partial, replacing some missing teeth, or full, replacing all the missing teeth in your mouth. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜ƒ
๐Ÿฆท Types of removable partial dentures are Acrylic (Conventional), Cast partial denture, Valplast(flexible denture). In this case, our patient opted for flexible denture. Removable dentures rest on your gums and takes support from your underlying bone. With proper care, a denture can last from 7-10 years. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
๐Ÿ˜ Here are some tips on how to take care of your denture ๐Ÿ˜
โœ… Clean your dentures with a soft toothbrush and a cleansing soap.
โŒ Do not use a toothpaste to clean your dentures.
โœ… Clean your gums, and teeth (if you have some teeth left) using a soft toothbrush in the mornings and nights.
โœ… After every meal, take out your denture, gargle your mouth and wash your denture to prevent any food getting stuck in your mouth.
โœ… Place a towel / bowl of water while washing your dentures, this reduces the risk of the denture breaking if it falls
โœ… Rinse dentures under cold water.
โœ… Soak your denture in a glass of water with the denture cleansing soap overnight.
โŒ Do not sleep with your dentures.
โœ… Visit your dentist regularly for maintenance of your denture.
