Regular EPO undergoes heavy refining processes to extend its shelf life. Refining cleans up the oil, allowing cheaper, low quality or dirty oil to be used. Unfortunately, this process also damages the oil and strips away the beneficial components of EPO, including Triterpenes - the naturally occurring lipophillic antioxidants in EPO that helps the body mop up damaging free radicals.
