First Day Orientation!
CIC orientation week helps young Leaders and parents adjust to school by introducing the environment, teachers, and routines through fun, low-pressure activities like exploring the classroom, meeting classmates, story time, simple crafts (coloring, playdough), and motor skill games (blocks, jumping) to build comfort, reduce anxiety, and make starting school a positive experience.
Benefits of Orientation for Young Leaders:
1. Reduces Anxiety & Stress: Exploring the classroom, meeting staff, and learning schedules in a relaxed setting minimizes fear and uncertainty about the unknown.
2. Builds Confidence & Belonging: Forming initial bonds with teachers and peers creates a welcoming atmosphere, making kids feel safe and part of the school community.
3. Familiarizes with Environment: Children learn where things are (classrooms, bathrooms, playground), helping them navigate independently.
4. Establishes Routines: Introducing daily schedules (lining up, snack time, playtime) helps children feel secure and ready to learn
5. Encourages Social-Emotional Growth: Fun, interactive activities promote teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
6. Boosts Parental Involvement: Parents meet educators, understand grading, and learn how to support their child's transition, strengthening the home-school connection
7.Sets a Positive Tone: A smooth orientation
encourages a positive attitude towards learning and a successful, fulfilling educational journey.
