POV: slimming and lifting a face is never about doing more. It is about doing the right things in the right places.

A slimmer, more lifted face starts with understanding why the face looks heavier or less defined in the first place. In some patients, the issue is excess bulk from an overactive masseter muscle. In others, it is not “fat” at all, but age-related fat loss, soft tissue descent, and a gradual loss of support that creates heaviness, sagging, and a less defined lower face.

That is why assessment matters.

Many patients come in saying:

“I’ve already tried slimming treatments… but it didn’t really work.”

Most of the time, the issue isn’t the treatment itself.
It’s that the wrong problem was treated.

A heavier-looking face or stubborn tummy area can be caused by different things:
• localised pockets of fat
• loss of skin firmness
• or a combination of both

Using a tightening treatment on a fat problem will not reduce the bulk.
Reducing fat without supporting the skin may even create looseness.

Medical weight loss does not pause during Ramadan but it does need to be managed differently.

GLP-1 therapy can usually be continued safely during the fasting month, even with morning injections under medical supervision.

However, prolonged fasting together with appetite suppression may increase the risk of:
• nausea
• fatigue
• dizziness
• dehydration

Which is why dose escalation is generally avoided during this period.

Medical treatment plans should always be adjusted according to your condition especially during Ramadan.
