It’s a community pharmacy located in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Malaysia. It is started by an enthusiastic pharmacist, Rachel Gan, who has experience both in community and hospital setting, in UK and Malaysia. The name “ALIVE” was given to this pharmacy because for us ‘ALIVE’ signifies having life and hope.We believe that a pharmacy should be a place where people get educated and information about
their health condition and from there on maintain a healthy life. A pharmacy is not necessarily only about medicine. We hope to help everyone who comes through the door to be healthier and be able to actively engage in life. Hence the pharmacy is named “ALIVE”. Being trained up and registered as a pharmacist in UK, Rachel is inspired to have a pharmacy that is patient-oriented which provides evidence-based health education to the patients. The pharmacist in Alive Pharmacy provides professional counselling and education about patients’ health queries, conditions and medication use. We believe that with proper informed choices available, patients will be empowered to know the name, strength and purpose of medication thus enhance the compliance and effects of medication use. Right now, unfortunately this model of service is not commonly available in Malaysia. Some of the pharmacies do not even have a pharmacist to dispense the medication. In Alive Pharmacy, we can assure you that your medication and health needs are being attended by a professional pharmacist who is attentive, patient and respectful at a reasonable price.
