Integrated Management System (IMS) Internal Audit Training on ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC 22000 AT Malaya Glass Products Sdn. Bhd.

A 2 day training, Integrated Management System (IMS) Internal Audit Training on ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC 22000 at Malaya Glass Products Sdn Bhd On 9–10 October 2025, by a certified trainer from PHEIO Management Sdn Bhd, Puan Amirah Emran.

The training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to drive operational excellence and compliance. Recognizing Malaya Glass Products Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian manufacturer of high-quality glass containers for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods sectors.

The training began with an overview of the key principles and audit requirements of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000, setting the foundation for understanding integrated management systems. Participants then explored the management of an audit program, including how to plan and schedule audits, define objectives and scope, and select appropriate audit methods.

In the audit preparation phase, emphasis was placed on selecting competent audit teams, reviewing relevant documentation, and developing effective audit checklists. The ex*****on phase covered the conduct of opening meetings, communication techniques during audits, and methods for gathering objective audit evidence.

The session also addressed audit reporting, focusing on identifying non-conformities and observations, and writing clear, actionable audit reports and non-conformance records (NCRs). The final segment of the training covered post-audit activities, including root cause analysis, corrective action follow-up, NCR response techniques, and internal audit performance review.

By the end of the training, participants were able to:
- Plan and manage internal audits effectively
- Develop and apply structured audit checklists
- Conduct audits using internationally recognized best practices
- Assess compliance based on objective evidence
- Write clear and concise audit reports and NCRs
- Contribute to continual improvement through robust internal audit practices

GAP ANALYSIS AT MTT Shipping Sdn. Bhd.

On 2nd and 3rd October 2025, Puan Amirah Emran and Ms Najihah Mohamad from PHEIO Management Sdn. Bhd. conducted a Food Safety GAP Analysis at MTT Shipping Logistics Centre facility in Kota Kinabalu.

The session focused on evaluating the facility’s current implementation of FSSC 22000, identifying compliance gaps, and recommending improvements aligned with the ISO 22000 FSMS Requirements, ISO 22002-5 PRP for Transport and Storage, and FSSC Additional requirements.

MTT Shipping Logistics Centre Sdn. Bhd. has recently embarked on a new business venture by investing in the development of a multi-temperature warehouse designed to accommodate diverse logistics requirements. The facility is capable of storing ambient, chilled, and frozen products, with a total capacity of 23,000 pallets. Equipped with a robust security system and modern logistics infrastructure, the warehouse features advanced temperature control and traceability systems to ensure product integrity and operational efficiency throughout the supply chain.
Through this GAP Analysis, our shared objective was to support MTT Shipping Logistics Centre Sdn. Bhd. in strengthening its Food Safety Management System (FSMS), fostering continuous improvement, and advancing its goal of achieving FSSC 22000 certification by the first quarter of 2026.

On 5 & 6 November 2025, PHEIO Management Sdn Bhd had the pleasure of delivering a two-day HACCP Internal Audit Training at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang — led by Puan Amirah Emran.

This hands-on session was designed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools to plan, execute, and report internal audits effectively within their food safety systems. From audit principles to NCR writing, the training emphasized internal audits as a cornerstone of continuous improvement and HACCP assurance.

Nur Aina Izzati from PHEIO Management Sdn Bhd conducted a Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) inspection at Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa Sdn Bhd (LDBR)

The inspection was carried out based on the following requirements:
-HACCP (MS 1480:2019) and GMP (MS 1514:2022) standards
-Malaysia Food Hygiene Regulations 2009

The audit aimed to ensure that food handling, preparation, and hygiene practices at the resort align with the highest national and international standards — safeguarding every meal served to prevent any adverse health effects to consumers. This reflects LDBR’s ongoing commitment to food safety and quality.

Each inspection we conduct goes beyond mere compliance. It is a proactive effort to strengthen trust, uphold safety, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the resort’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

We are pleased to be invited to conduct a comprehensive FSSC 22000 Internal Audit Training at Yeo Hiap Seng (Yeo’s) on 22nd October 2025.

The training content covered:
1. Principles of food safety audit
2. Audit planning: preparation of annual audit program and audit plan
3. Selection of internal auditors
4. Preparation of internal audit checklist
5. Performing internal audit: opening meeting, finding audit evidence, audit communication, evaluating against audit criteria, closing meeting.
6. Audit reporting: writing NCR and audit summary
7. Follow up audit: determination of root cause and corrective action, verification and closed out NCR
8. Analysis audit

The training also include onsite practical audit with the benefits to enhance auditor competency. It also helps to develop critical skills like observation, interviewing, and evidence collection, or as well as build up confidence in reporting non-conformities and follow up corrective actions.
