SKF World Kidney Day 2026
In conjunction with World Kidney Day 2026, Sibu Kidney Foundation (SKF) will be organising a series of impactful programmes aimed at raising public awareness on kidney health, encouraging early detection, and promoting sustainable healthy
lifestyle practices among patients and the wider community. Health screening services and Continuing Medical Education (CME) talks will be extended to SKF in-house patients, their family members, as well as members of the public, reinforcing SKF’s ongoing commitment to community health education and preventive care.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Kidney Health for All – Caring for People, Protecting the Planet.”
In support of this meaningful cause, SKF is launching limited-edition “Kidney Health for All’’ T-shirts as a symbolic contribution to society. Priced at RM12 per unit. Only 1,000 pieces are available, strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate early and contribute to this collective effort in promoting kidney health for all
As part of this initiative, SKF will be offering health screening and blood test packages at special promotional rates. A comprehensive blood test package is available from as low as RM80, on a first-come, first-served basis, and includes numerous essential tests to support early detection and monitoring of kidney-related
conditions. Members of the public are encouraged to call early to secure their bookings, as slots are limited.
SKF is pleased to welcome visiting nephrologist, Dr. Tiong Kung Ung, who will be delivering engaging and practical CME talks. His sessions on “Phosphate Diet for “Kidney Health for All – Caring for People, Protecting the Planet.”
Dialysis Patients” and “CKD Management at Early Stage” aim to educate patients and caregivers on dietary control, early disease detection, and preventive management. These talks are designed to empower participants with essential knowledge to make informed health decisions and improve long-term kidney health outcomes. Free medical consultations with Dr. Tiong Kung Ung will also be
provided during the event.
In addition, the world global leader in dialysis, Fresenius Medical Care, will be supporting the event by facilitating Body Composition Monitor (BCM) evaluations for patients. fluid management, reducing complications related to fluid imbalance, and supporting improved dialysis outcomes and overall patient well-being.
