The first HUKM EUS workshop, in collaboration with GI-TAP and Olympus, took place on June 16th and 17th. The primary focus of this workshop was to introduce the new Olympus EU-ME3 ultrasound processor, which offers a range of advanced features and exceptional resolution. The workshop aimed to enhance the diagnostic and therapeutic skills of gastroenterology fellows and junior consultants who already possessed prior experience in EUS. This was achieved through a combination of informative lectures and live hands-on cases. Distinguished faculty members included Professor Christopher Khor, a renowned national leader in EUS and the current president of GI-TAP, as well as Datuk Dr Ryan Ponnudurai, the past president of GI-TAP. Other esteemed faculty members included Datin Dr Sharmila Sachithanandan, Dr Lee Tiong See, Datuk Dr Raman Muthukaruppan, Dr Kiew Kuang Kiat, and Dr James Emmanuel. The hands-on cases provided participants with a valuable learning opportunity, encompassing a range of complexity from intermediate to advanced levels. Overall, the workshop proved to be an outstanding platform for professional development.
