Meet the newest addition to our team of skilled specialists at Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City — Consultant Ophthalmologist, Medical Retina & Uveitis Specialist, Dr Daphne Teh.

Dr Daphne completed her fellowship training in Medical Retina and Ocular Immunology at the renowned Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia and brings with her over a decade of clinical experience.

She specialises in medical retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, inherited retinal diseases and complex inflammatory eye conditions. She also has extensive experience performing complex cataract surgeries, including those involving co-existing ocular conditions, and manages a wide range of general ophthalmology conditions in both adults and children.

In conjunction with World Stroke Day on 26 October 2025, Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City brought together healthcare professionals, partners, and the community to raise awareness on stroke prevention and management under the theme “Know the Signs, Lower Your Risk”.

The event was officiated by Dr Hiew Fu Liong, Consultant Neurologist, and featured a keynote address by Mr Chia Yew Ken, MBSJ Councillor for Zone 3, USJ7 – 22. Throughout the morning, participants heard from dedicated experts including Dr Hiew Fu Liong, Dr Toh Charng Jeng, Dr Foong Chee Choong, Dr Alvin Ang Keming, and Ms Celeste Lau Wai Hong, who shared insights on medical and surgical treatment, rehabilitation, advancements in stroke care, and dietary prevention.

A lively performance by Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas Subang Jaya added warmth, colour, and energy to the day, showcasing the enthusiasm and unity of our senior community. Their spirited participation was a wonderful reminder of the importance of staying active, engaged, and connected, which are values that lie at the heart of stroke prevention and recovery.

Together, we continue to champion stroke awareness, early detection, and recovery. Let’s all remember to BEFAST because every second counts in saving lives.
