Malaysia's leading family planning, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) non-government organization.

FRHAM is formerly known as Federation of Family Planning Associations, Malaysia (FFPAM). It is a federation of 13 State Member Associations (State MAs). It was established in 1958 with the aim of educating Malaysians in family planning and responsible parenthood, promoting and supporting effective family planning and sexual and reproductive health services. Since 1963, FRHAM has been a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and was fully accredited member in November 2005.

Seremban Market | NSFPA Roadshow 2026

NSFPA’s first roadshow of the year at Seremban Market focused on the message “Prevention is better than cure.”

Together with YB Chew, NSFPA shared information on clinic services and offered special health screenings, including ECG (RM10) and bone mineral density screening (RM25 with dietitian counselling), along with doctor-led counselling.

The event was well supported by trained nurses and attended by NSFPA leadership.

A meaningful and successful start to 2026.

Engaging Visit with Nutrition & Community Health Students!

On 18 December 2025 we were delighted to welcome 40 students from the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Community Health from University Putra Malaysia (UPM) along with their lecturer, to FRHAM!

Students learned about who we are, our work, and the reproductive health services we provide.
A special thank you to Dr. Jin-Mae (FReHA) for sharing valuable insights on perinatal care and its connection to nutrition from a medical perspective.

The session also included practical learning activities to enhance understanding, including:
✅ Condom demonstration
✅ Breast self-examination using demo kits
✅ Introduction to contraception methods

It was an interactive, insightful, and lively session with meaningful discussions and great participation from the students.

On 2–5 December 2025, FRHAM participated in the Strategic Communications and Positive Narratives on SRHRJ Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, where we strengthened our understanding of strategic messaging, countering harmful narratives, crisis and humanitarian communications, ethical storytelling, and the responsible use of digital and AI tools.

The workshop also provided valuable peer learning and exchanges with regional partners, enhancing our collective approaches to communicating SRHRJ with clarity, dignity and impact.

FRHAM was honoured to join the SHY Peer Advocate Workshop, engaging with 30 passionate medical students committed to advancing sexual and reproductive health for young people.

Our Head of Programme & Projects, Mr. Jeremy, delivered a meaningful session on “Barriers in Providing Help & Support – FRHAM’s Perspective.” He highlighted the real challenges faced by youth in accessing SRHR services and the crucial role future healthcare professionals play in creating safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly spaces.

A big thank you to all participants for your enthusiasm and dedication. Together, we’re building a more informed and empowered generation!

On 2 December 2025, the Penang Family Health Development Association Penang (FHDA Penang) and the Kedah Family Health Association (KFHA) came together for a joint stakeholder meeting.

This cross-state partnership aims to strengthen collaboration in delivering sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services for refugee communities.

A meaningful step towards safer, more accessible and compassionate care across both states.

On 19 & 20 November 2025, FRHAM attended the Asia Pacific Chem-Use Symposium (APCS) 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, where regional experts and community leaders gathered to discuss harm reduction, chem-use trends, mental and sexual health, and community-led solutions. The two-day programme highlighted the importance of integrated services, supportive policies, and empowering people with lived experience. Grateful for the insights and connections made to strengthen future programmes and advocacy.
