慈爱福利功德会成立于一九八六年，至今已有廿八年历史。经过廿八年的积极健康发展，慈爱已经拥有一支由数十位临床经验丰富的中医师及义工群组成的强大施医赠药团队。目前服务的地点主要在槟島，除了檀香寺每天有医师驻診外，流动医药队在其他地点的服务有: 慈心道场、阿依淡新市鎮、竹林寺、圣 光精舍、梵音梵寺、吉打律区组屋居民协会、升旗山村委会民众会堂、垄尾龙沙花园公寓居民协会、打槍埔睦邻原则A区活动中心、天德园乡委会、海音佛教会、诗布朗再也佛教会等；吉打州的服务地点则位于吉中双溪大年公主城。本着为众生拔苦于乐的宗旨，慈爱服务的对象来自各階層人士及各种族，其中包括华族、马来友族与印度友族等。每年的受惠病黎人次超过－万五千余名人次。
Metta Welfare Association was founded in 1986 and has had 28 years of history so far. After 28 years of positive and healthy development, the Association has now recruited dozens of clinically experienced TCM physicians and volunteers that form a strong free medical team. Currently, other than Than Hsiang Temple in Pulau Pinang that provides free medical services, the mobile medical team has also reached out to patients in other communities, such as Cixin Society, Bandar Baru Ayer Itam, Zhulin Temple, Shengguang Jinshe, Fanyin Temple, Penang Kedah Flat Residents Association, Pondok Balai Rakyat JKKK B. Bendera, Paya Terubong Jaya Apartments Residents Association, Pusat Aktiviti Kawasan Rukun Tetangga Padang Tembak A, Taman Thean Teik, Haiyin Buddhist Association and Seberang Jaya Buddhist Association. In Kedah, another free metta clinic is located in Bandar Puteri Jaya, Sungai Petani. To help free people from pain and suffering, metta free medical team serves patients from all walks of life, regardless of race, including Malays, Chinese and Indians. Every year, more than 15,000 people benefit from these trips.
