PUBLIC NOTICE - ORANJEMUND TOWN COUNCIL HOUSING SCHEME: NOTICE TO BENEFICIARIES: OCCUPATION & KEY COLLECTION FOR COMPLETED HOUSES

The Oranjemund Town Council hereby informs the 56 beneficiaries of the Oranjemund Town Council Housing Scheme that 31 houses have been completed and are now ready for occupation.
Beneficiaries whose units are among the completed houses as per the list below are hereby informed that they should meet at the on site (Extension 10) Wednesday, 01 April 2026 at 15:00 for key
collection and occupation arrangements. Those that are unable to attend today may report to the site on Thursday, 02 April 2026 at 10h00. Please take note: Before keys can be handed over, all beneficiaries are required to ensure the following are completed:

Lease Agreement – Must be completed and signed with the Property Section.
Municipal Services Account – Must be opened with the Finance Department.
Deposit Payment – Required deposit must be settled in full.
Municipal Account – Must be cleared with no outstanding arrears.
Only beneficiaries who have met all the above requirements will be eligible for key handover and occupation. For enquiries, kindly contact the Property Office at Oranjemund Town Council during office hours (063 233500). HOUSES READY FOR OCCUPTION:

Courtesy Visit by the Minister of Agriculture – Exploring Agricultural Opportunities in Oranjemund

On the 27 March 2026, the Oranjemund Town Council had the honour of welcoming the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Honourable Inge Zaamwani, on a courtesy visit to our town. The engagement highlighted the importance of unlocking and strengthening the agricultural sector in Oranjemund as a key driver for economic diversification and long-term sustainability.

The Honourable Minister encouraged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to diversify the local economy and support sustainable development initiatives.His Worship, Councillor Pankratius Kondjamba, emphasised that Oranjemund has the land and potential to develop a thriving agricultural sector, noting that this presents a critical opportunity to drive growth and create sustainable livelihoods for the community.Regional Councillor Nestor Sheimi further highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts to support the Oranjemund constituency through agricultural development.

The Oranjemund Town Council hereby informs residents and the general public of an upcoming sporting event “Run Oranjemund” that is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28 March 2026, hosted by the Ocean Athletics Club. This event will feature the following activities for athletes of all fitness levels:
