Welcome Dr. Marié du Preez!
Dr. Marié du Preez is a newly accredited neurologist with deep roots in Namibia and a passion for improving neurological health. Born and raised in Namibia, Dr. du Preez began her medical journey at Stellenbosch University, where she completed her undergraduate medical degree. She returned to her home country for her early clinical years, gaining invaluable experience in internal medicine, neurology, and intensive care at Katutura and Windhoek Central Hospitals. These formative years not only honed her clinical skills but also deepened her commitment to serving patients in diverse and resource-constrained settings.
Pursuing her vision to specialize in neurology, Dr. du Preez completed her postgraduate training at Tygerberg Hospital through Stellenbosch University. This experience further refined her skills in evidence-based, specialist care and advanced diagnostics.
Her special interests include Parkinson’s disease, myasthenia gravis, stroke, epilepsy, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. She is particularly passionate about early diagnosis and multidisciplinary care, striving to enhance quality of life for patients and families navigating challenging neurological conditions.
Dr. du Preez brings both clinical excellence and heartfelt dedication to her practice. With a deep respect for her patients and a strong belief in the power of collaborative care, she is excited to contribute meaningfully to the field of neurology in Namibia and beyond. Dr. Marié du Preez is now accredited at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital (LPPH) in Windhoek, a quaternary care hospital where she provides specialized neurological services.
