Nammed Medical Aid Fund

Nammed Medical Aid Fund Your Partner in Health NAMMED was established on 1 February 1990 by the Namibian Agricultural Union, with Old Mutual as the administrator.

After independence the Fund was established with the aim of providing Namibian Farmers with Medical Aid to ensure medical cover and certainty. In collaboration with the Medical Aid Funds Act 23 of 1995 NAMMED was registered NAMFISA and adhered to all the regulatory requirements. During 1999 Old Mutual decided to terminate its health-services. The Board of Trustees appointed Paramount Health Care & Employee Benefits in 1999 as the Fund's new administrator and it has thus far provided excellent Service. Nammed Medical Aid Fund has gone from strength to strength and for 2014 the Trustees implemented the Lifestages approach, offering a range of products to suit everyone. The traditional view of Medical Aid Funds is that more is better. Members often believe that they should buy the maximum amount of cover that they can afford with no or little regard to the specific benefits of the Option as compared to their actual needs. Taking into consideration your age, family size, health and income, Nammed Medical Aid Fund makes choosing your Option easy. For more information on the Lifestages, contact our office at:

Are you practising good bladder habits? 🚻💧

Your bladder needs balance; don’t hold it in too long, but also avoid going “just in case” too often. This can weaken your bladder or train it to signal too early.

Stay active, drink enough water, and take time to relax when using the bathroom.
💡 If you notice pain, leaks, or changes in urine colour, chat to your doctor.

It’s World Heart Day! ❤️

Let’s do 3 things right now to boost our heart health:
▪️ Take a few deep breaths to lower stress.
▪️ Roll your shoulders, stretch, or take a quick walk.
▪️ If it’s been a while, book a routine check-up.

Healthy adults without risk factors should have a check-up every 3–5 years, more often after age 40.

With Nammed’s Wellness Benefits, members have access to preventative screenings like cholesterol and blood pressure checks, helping you stay on top of your heart health year after year. 💙

Hey guys, we get it. Just one more episode. One more game. 🎮 One more work email.
But here’s the truth: skipping sleep = skipping gains.

Lack of sleep messes with your testosterone, and that can tank your energy, your drive, and your ability to build muscle and bone density, especially in younger men!

So do your body a favour: log off, lights out, and level up your sleep. 💤
