Namibia Medical Care - NMC has alerted members to a fraudulent email currently in circulation that appears to originate from a trusted source. The organisation says the message may request recipients to click on a link, but has confirmed it was not sent by NMC.
Members are urged not to click on any links or download attachments from suspicious emails. NMC stressed that official communications are only sent from the following addresses: enquiries@methealth.com.na, enews@methealth.com.na, or scoop@nmcfund.com.
The public has also been advised not to respond to such emails or share any personal information unless the source has been properly verified.
NMC further cautioned that phishing emails often contain urgent or unusual language such as “act now” or “account will be suspended”, and may use slightly altered or unfamiliar sender addresses. Recipients are encouraged to check email addresses carefully and avoid links that do not match official websites.
Anyone unsure about the authenticity of an email is advised to contact enquiries@methealth.com.na before taking any action.
The administrator has urged members to delete the suspicious message immediately.
