The worth of a Mother is More than Putting Food On the Table
It was yesterday I finally understood why men love bwesh so much.
See, it starts from childhood we can’t help it.
So this morning around 3am, SGM brought Yagazie to me while I was studying and said, “Abeg help me carry him.”
I carried the boy walked round the room and placed him on my chest and dozed off.
Next thing, the pacifier fell off his mouth His head was resting on my chest.
Before I knew it, this boy latched onto my n!pple like I was his mother 😭
The way he sucked it woke me up immediately.
I jumped and removed him sharp sharp.
Omo, that thing pain me—and this is a boy with no teeth o.
That was the moment I respected women on a different level.
All those times my wife used to scream during breastfeeding—I didn’t really get it.
Until this boy nearly sucked my chest off.
Breastfeeding is another kind of war.
Most men can’t handle 10 seconds of that pain.
And to think this boy was doing it with confidence…
I just dey look am like,
“So this is what you’ve been doing to the bwesh I paid bride price for?”
Since that incident, I’ve been wide awake.
No sleep since then.
If you see me sleeping on the road today, just know Yagazie is the cause. 😩
After all this stress of raising kids and trying to bring them up right,
somebody will still open mouth to ask his wife, “What do you bring to the table?”
Bro… a woman raising kids is not just the table.
It’s the foundation, the cement, the block work, the plumbing, the POP, the roof, and even the fence.
No woman raising kids owes you ‘table’ talk. She is the table.
