The second day of the engagement featured a comprehensive Capacity Building Programme for all ACTU Members of Federal MDAs in Ebonyi State.

The session brought together ACTU representatives from notable institutions including the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AEFETHA), Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AEFUNAI), National Obstetric Fistula Centre (NOFIC) Abakaliki, Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Afikpo, David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences (DUFUHS) Uburu, David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital (DUFUTH) Uburu, the Federal College of Agriculture Ishiagu, and the Federal College of Education Isu.
During the opening session, the Medical Director of NOFIC Abakaliki, Prof. Johnson Akuma Obuna, warmly welcomed all participating MDAs to the Centre and extended his best wishes for a fruitful and enriching training experience. He emphasized the value of continuous learning and inter-agency cooperation in promoting integrity, accountability, and ethical excellence across public institutions.

Although the participants were drawn from multiple MDAs across the state, the programme was centrally hosted at NOFIC Abakaliki, which served as the official venue and training hub for the multi-agency initiative. This strengthened NOFIC’s position as a leading institution in ethical reorientation and anti-corruption advocacy within the healthcare sector and the wider public service.
The capacity-building programme focused on two major thematic areas:
Techniques and Methods of Preliminary Investigation for ACTU in MDAs, providing participants with practical tools, early-detection strategies, and procedural insights essential for handling reports of misconduct and corruption within government establishments.

Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard: A Framework for Organizational Performance and Service Delivery — deepening participants’ understanding of ICPC’s compliance indicators, promoting ethical culture, and reinforcing accountability and service standards across federal institutions.

These sessions not only enhanced the technical competencies of ACTU members but also strengthened inter-agency synergy and the shared commitment to promoting transparency, professionalism, and responsible governance within Ebonyi State.
