Bacterial vaginosis (BV) affects nearly a third of all women in the U.S., and for over half of them, it's a recurring infection. BV has long been treated as a women's health issue—an imbalance of the vaginal microbiome. However, a groundbreaking new study suggests it can be sexually transmitted and that treating male partners could dramatically cut recurrence rates.
