I am honoured and grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for his continued confidence in me by redeploying me to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning as Minister of State. I am deeply honoured to serve in this new capacity, and I remain fully committed to supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and the delivery of measurable outcomes for Nigerians.

I also congratulate Mr. Taiwo Oyedele on his nomination as Minister of State for Finance, and I wish him a smooth confirmation process and every success in the task ahead.

As we continue to align planning, budgeting, and implementation across government, I look forward to working closely with the Honourable Minister, HE Abubakar Bagudu, the leadership of the Ministry, and stakeholders across the federation to advance national priorities, strengthen coordination, and accelerate inclusive growth.

Today, I received the leadership of the National Coalition of Apostles, Bishops, Archbishops and Cardinals of Nigeria on a courtesy visit to my office. Our engagement commenced with prayers and progressed into constructive discussions on national development.

The delegation was led by Cardinal David E.H. Robert, National Leader and Founder of the Coalition, accompanied by Archbishop Gideon Akintunde, National President; Sir Kende Babalola J.P., Abuja State Liaison Officer; Apostle Jacob Samuel, Interim Abuja State Chapter Chairman; and other distinguished leaders.

I reaffirmed that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is focused on inclusive prosperity — mobilizing investment, expanding access to credit, strengthening trade, and creating sustainable jobs for Nigerians.

We are officially moving forward with a landmark agreement to co-pilot the Sustainable Integrated Productive Communities(SIPC) project in Benue State. This initiative is a cornerstone of the national economic agenda of his excellency President , designed to transform Benue’s rich agricultural potential into a powerhouse of industrial manufacturing and job creation.

By integrating local production with global value chains, we aren’t just building infrastructure; we are building a sustainable economic engine for the “Food Basket of the Nation.”

​Market Outlook: Reviewing Nigeria’s potential return to the international bond market.

Moving from concept to implementation:

​Today, I had a productive meeting with the country director of the world bank Mathew Verghis and members of his team. We discussed critical updates to our revenue monitoring processes, including:

* ​Reviewing the audit of outstanding revenues.
​
* Strengthening the Accelerating Resource Mobilization Reforms (ARMOR) program in collaboration with the World Bank.

* ​Reforming the “cost of collection” structures to ensure more revenue stays in the Federation Account.

​This is a bold direction for our economy, and we are working diligently to ensure these reforms lead to sustainable
growth.

We are committed to a more robust and transparent fiscal framework for Nigeria.

Our discussions focused on recapitalizing and reforming the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation, a critical institution for protecting smallholder farmers against climate, flood, and disease-related risks.

Food security is economic security. Strengthening agricultural risk management will drive inclusiveness, empower our youth, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to national GDP growth.

At the Ministry of Finance, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that stabilize food systems and advance sustainable economic development.
