Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria PPFN PPFN is a national organization with volunteer membership in all the states of Nigeria and a network of clinics throughout the country. GOALS:

Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN) is the successor of the Family Planning Council of Nigeria (FPCN) which was established on November 19th 1964 by a few public spirited Nigeria Medical and Social Welfare professionals in response to the spate of undesirable pregnancies, child dumping, illegally induced abortions and the consequent high rate of maternal and child morbidity in the Country. PPFN was incorporated in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Decree 1990 (Cap 59) as a voluntary and charitable non-government, non-profit making or sharing organization. It is a full member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Federation of some 180 Country Family Planning Associations, promoting FP/SRH services world-wide. PPFN is involved with five programmatic areas known as the (5) A’s –Advocacy, Access, Adolescents, HIV/AIDS, Abortion. ROLE: As a pioneer organization, PPFN endeavors’ to play a leadership role in the private sector to support and compliment the public sector in sexual and reproductive health programmes including family planning and HIV/AIDS. To enhance Sexual and Reproductive Health services and rights, including family planning for youths, men and women. To eliminate socio-cultural barriers to the attainment Sexual and Reproductive Health/Family Planning as of right for all, especially the empowerment of women and the girl child. To enhance PPFN's capacity to promote quality, accessible and sustainable SRH Services including FP- Famliy Planning to the populace. OBJECTIVES:
In pursuance of its mandate, obligation, role, vision and mission/the objects of PPFN are to:
i. Promote integrated sexual and reproductive health especially family planning behavior and practices as a basic human right of every person. Provide voluntary regulation of sexuality and fertility and contraceptive
Information and services on the basis of informed choice and persuasion without any coercive practices. Promote the maintenance of satisfactory standard in the delivery of
services and programmes. iv. Co-operate and collaborate to the extent possible with Government, other Nongovernmental Organizations rind International Donors in the pursuit of its mission and mandate as we as other relevant health and development programmes. v. Undertake any appropriate action which may enhance the achievement

LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION

Introduction

2014 thus marks 50 years since the establishment of PPFN and has grown to be recognized as the largest Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Nigeria providing Family Planning, Sexual and Reproductive Health Services.

‘CALLING YOUNG PEOPLE TO ACTION’ LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION
We are calling for applications from young aspiring artists to design a logo to commemorate PPFN’s 50th anniversary.

Young people are being invited to submit entries based on the overall theme ‘‘PPFN at 50”.

Who is Eligible?
The Competition is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 25 years of age and must be demonstrate to be 15 years old and under25years old on or by November 19th.

Criteria
• All entries must be your own original work.
• You must demonstrate that you are at least 15 years old and less than 26 years old on or by November 19.
• You must be a YAM member of PPFN.
• Only one entry per individual.
• Colours must represent Nigeria and PPFN (e.g. Green)

DEADLINE for competitions: 19TH JULY 2013

All entries should be submitted online to www.ppfn.org or emailed to 50anniversary@ppfn.org

Prizes
• WINNER that emerges shall go home with the sum of N50, 000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) cash reward.
• Selected Logo will be used for the PPFN @ 50 Celebration in November 2014.
• The winners of the Logo Design Competition will be invited and honoured at PPFN’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
