Under the leadership of the Ghana Health Service ( ) with support from Results for Development (R4D) and the Global Financing Facility (GFF), we launched the Health Facility Survey component of the FASTR in Ghana using the Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) methodology during the 2nd Analytical and Learning Lab, facilitated by Results For Development in collaboration with Ghana Health Service ( )

During the session, we introduced the Remote Facility Survey Component of FASTR, marking an important milestone in Ghana’s journey toward stronger health data systems. With this, we will equip health leaders with timely, actionable insights to inform planning, decision-making, and improved health outcomes across the country.

As we gear towards full implementation, we will continue to engage closely with national and local health stakeholders to foster shared ownership and long-term sustainability of the initiative.

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening health data quality in Nigeria, the FASTR team recently wrapped up in-person verification visits across the six geopolitical zones (Abia, Bauchi, Cross River, Kano, Nasarawa, and Ogun). These field exercises were designed to validate the reliability of our Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) methodology, a core component of the FASTR approach to high-frequency health facility assessments.

Working closely with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare ( )and the state-level Department of Health and Planning Research Statistics team, we are establishing the Health Facility Survey component under this initiative.

By cross-checking telephone survey results with on-ground realities, we’re building trust in the process and setting a strong foundation for scalable, cost-efficient national data collection.

As part of our support to National Primary Health Care Development Agency goal of boosting immunization coverage in Nigeria, NOI Polls supported the deployment of over 4,000 Independent Cluster Supervisors (ICSs) across Borno, Kaduna, and Yobe. These ICSs were assigned to vaccination teams in a structured and manageable ratio, enabling real-time, high-quality supervision across various locations, even in hard-to-reach or insecure terrains.

This level of field oversight created daily feedback loops, quick response mechanisms, and a culture of accountability among vaccinators. Communities became more receptive, seeing familiar, respected local faces as part of the campaign. Real-time data collection and daily reviews helped troubleshoot challenges swiftly, improving overall campaign efficiency and reach.

The success of this field supervision model highlights the power of community-driven oversight and real-time responsiveness by leveraging localized supervision structures to improve operational outcomes.

As part of the April and June 2025 Polio Outbreak Response campaigns in Borno, Kaduna, and Yobe, NOIPolls supported the transformative training program for over 500 Independent Observers (IOs). These trainings were immersive, practical, and rigorously evaluated to ensure only the most capable individuals were deployed to assign vaccinators for the campaigns.

This approach brought integrity and quality assurance to the campaign from the ground up. Identifying Independent Observers with at least 70% post-training evaluation score not only validated team selections but also upheld the transparency and accountability needed to rebuild public trust in the immunization process, especially in communities plagued by skepticism and campaign fatigue.

By investing in high-quality, hands-on training and independent monitoring, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency has set a new standard for capacity-building in public health. Knowing that, this model can be scaled for broader immunization and maternal health campaigns, ensuring that frontline personnel are equipped, trusted, and ready to serve their communities with excellence.

Strong women build strong nations. 🇳🇬💪

From classrooms to boardrooms, Nigerian women deserve equal rights, respect, and opportunity.

Recent Afrobarometer survey shows a divide amongst Nigerians who agree or disagree that men should be given priority over women in hiring and running for office.

It is time to invest in her future—and Nigeria’s. 🌍💫
