Infertility is generally classified into **two main types**:
1. **Primary Infertility**: This occurs when a couple has never been able to conceive after at least one year of trying.
2. **Secondary Infertility**: This happens when a couple has been able to conceive at least once before but is now unable to conceive again.
Both types can affect either men or women, and the causes can vary widely, including hormonal imbalances, infections, lifestyle factors, or structural issues in the reproductive system.
**Unexplained infertility** is another classification that occurs when no clear cause for infertility can be identified despite thorough medical evaluation. This means that after all tests—such as hormonal assessments, s***m a**lysis, and imaging of reproductive organs—everything appears normal, yet the couple is still unable to conceive.
Unexplained infertility affects about 10-20% of couples experiencing infertility. It can be frustrating because the lack of a clear diagnosis makes it harder to target specific treatments, but there are still various approaches to help improve the chances of conception, such as lifestyle changes, fertility treatments (like IVF), and natural methods aimed at improving reproductive health.
