WORLD BANK LOANS: ROAD SAFETY OFFICERS WIVES ASSOCIATION CALL FOR REVIEW OF IMPLEMENTATION
The Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA) has added their voice to on-going appeals to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to set parameters for the utilization of World Bank Loans and other intervention funds from donor partners.
Making this statement in Abuja, the National President of ROSOWA, Hajia Aisha Biu observed that the need for direct and sustainable empowerment of women and the vulnerable in the rural areas cannot be over emphasized and urged President Tinubu to consider the need for a restructure on the modalities for utilizing donor funds, implementation and other deliverables as part of measures to ensure that donor funds impact on supposed beneficiaries.
Speaking further, she frowned at the continuous use of donor funds from foreign organizations on trainings, advocacies and other distractions which do not add value to the real intent for the loans. “ we are already use to advocacies, consultancies and trainings, let us focus on ensuring that our women and the vulnerable people benefit from these funds from foreign donors”.
It will be recalled that the West African Law Students Association, the National Association of Nigerian Students and the APC Northern Youth Vanguard have recently urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately consider review and restructuring of all World Bank Loans and Grants from donor agencies for the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
