So someone in my community told me, a lot of Women do not take Routine medications during pregnancy and I was like that is bad and that Is why I am talking about it today.
Dangers of not taking routine medications during pregnancy include increased risks for the mother and baby.
Risks to the baby may include
Premature birth: The risk of the baby being born before 37 weeks of pregnancy increases.
Low birth weight: Babies born to mothers who do not take their medications may have a low birth weight.
Developmental issues: This can include impacts on the baby's mental ability tests, heart and lung problems, and general poor growth.
Nutritional problems: Issues with iron levels and potential problems with the baby's overall nutritional intake can occur.
Congenital abnormalities: While not all medications are harmful, some can increase the risk of birth defects, but suddenly stopping a necessary medication can also have negative consequences.
Risks to the mother
Worsening of pre-existing conditions: Uncontrolled conditions like asthma or epilepsy can be dangerous for both the mother and the baby.
Increased risk of complications: Not taking medication can lead to complications like maternal anemia.
Pregnancy loss: In severe cases, stopping a crucial medication can increase the risk of miscarriage or other serious complications.
