Who Are the 9 People That Allah Loves?

BY AMALIAH TEAM IN RAMADAN ON 29TH MARCH, 2023

Both the Qur’an and Sunnah guide us to seek the love of Allah through the actions He loves as well as striving to be like those who He says He loves in the Qur’an.

Allah tells us that if He loves a person, He calls [angel] Gabriel saying:

“Allah loves so and so; O Gabriel, love him.” Gabriel would love him, and then Gabriel would make an announcement among the residents of Heaven, “Allah loves so-and-so, therefore, you should love him also.” So, all the residents of the Heavens would love him and then he is granted the pleasure of the people of the earth. (Bukhari)

Here are 9 qualities that we can work on implementing in our lives in order to gain Allah’s love, as highlighted in the Qur’an and Sunnah:

This article is sponsored by Islamic Relief UK. This year IR is harnessing the power of your Zakat—if everyone around the world gave 2.5% of their wealth, we could end poverty together.

Islamic Relief is a trusted distributor of Zakat to people in 34 countries around the world. They give essential relief to those in need overseas, and at home in the UK as well.

Find out more about the work here.

1.Those who are God-conscious (Al-Muttaqin)

Allah tells us in the Qur’an that fasting has been prescribed for us so that we can attain Taqwa, making Ramadan a beautiful opportunity to earn His Love. One of the ways Allah says we can achieve true God-consciousness or righteousness is “by giving some of what we cherish” (Qur’an 3:92).

“Righteousness in the sight of God…dwells in one who, despite his love for it, gives of his wealth in charity to close relatives and orphans and to the needy and the wayfarer, and beggars and for the emancipation of slaves.” (Qur’an 2:177)

Islamic Relief provides an opportunity to help support orphans through their orphan sponsorship programme. The sponsorship is an effective way of giving that sets up a connection between the donor and a vulnerable orphan. The donor will receive an annual update on how their support is assisting the sponsored child and their family.

2.Those who purify themselves (Al-Mutatahhirun)

Allah says, He loves “those who purify themselves” (Qur’an 2:222). Wudhu is a form of purification for our sins, and the Prophet ﷺ said, “When a Muslim man performs ablution, his sins are removed from his hearing, his sight, his hands, and his legs. If he sits down, he will sit down forgiven.” (Musnad Aḥmad) This Ramadan, you can strive to always be in a state of wudhu even when you’re on your period as it carries a lot of barakah.

“When the Messenger ﷺ was in the state of major ritual impurity and intended to eat or sleep, he would perform wudū, the way he would for prayer.” (Muslim)

Zakat is another form of purification which we can engage in as it purifies us and our wealth.

“Take, [O Muḥammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah’s blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.” (Qur’an 9:103)

Although, it’s not necessary to pay Zakat al-Maal in the month of Ramadan (unless it’s due at the time), we can utilise the added barakah of the month and engage in this act of worship then.

3.Those who rely on Him (Al-Mutawakkilin)

Sometimes Shaitan can deceive us into thinking that if we give, we’ll never have enough for ourselves or we’ll be losing out. But Allah encourages us to give even when we don’t have much, and He comforts us with His reminder that He

“…loves those who rely [upon Him]” (Quran 3:159).

One way to quell the fear of scarcity which arises is by giving to others from what we think we’ll have less of. Relying on Allah includes leaving our affairs in His hands and trusting that He will provide for us and reward us with much more and better than we’ve given.

4.Those who repent (Al-Tawwabin)

In the month where the gates of heavens are open and the gates of hell are closed, the Prophet ﷺ taught our mother Aisha (RA) a beautiful dua to constantly seek repentance from Allah:

Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee’ (O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving and You love to Forgive, so forgive me)

As you go through your day in Ramadan, strive to make it a habit to recite this dua constantly as it’s not limited to the last ten days of the month.

5. Those who are Just (Al-Muqsitin)

Allah tells us in the Qur’an that He “loves those who are fair (and just).” (Qur’an 49:9-10)

Everywhere you look in the world today, there seems to be an injustice of some kind. This can leave us feeling helpless but Islam also provides us with Zakat, an effective way to tackle one of the most prevelant forms of injustice which is economic injustice. Zakat is a form of social justice which involves giving out of our wealth back to the community. Giving Zakat ensures an ethical redistribution of wealth and means that those most in need are given their due share.

6. Those who are consistent

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little.” [Bukhari]

Technology has made it easy to automate some acts to achieve easy consistency. One way to do this can be to set up regular donations for a cause you care about even if it’s a £5 a month direct debit.

Not sure where to donate? Islamic Relief UK offers several causes which you can choose to donate monthly to including providing water, supporting orphans and children or contributing towards a form of sadaqatul jariyah.

7. Those who do good (Al-Muhsinin)

Allah provides us with a plethora of opportunities to do good such as kindness to others, feeding others, spreading salaam, forgiving those who wrong us or even saying a good word.

“Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people – and Allah loves the doers of good.” (Quran 3:134)

“And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.” (Quran 2:195)

“Worship Allah ˹alone˺ and associate none with Him. And be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, near and distant neighbours, close friends, ˹needy˺ travellers, and those ˹bonds people˺ in your possession. Surely Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful—” (Qur’an 4:36)

This Ramadan, make it a habit to strive to complete a good deed a day.

8. The patient (As-Sabirin)

Another group of people Allah says He loves, are those who are “steadfast” (Qur’an 3:146) in patience and perseverance.

Ramadan teaches us the importance of sabr in our abstinence from haram (all actions displeasing to Allah) as well as in practising good deeds even when we don’t attain any personal benefit from our actions. Sabr can also manifest in moments of trials and difficulty.

This Ramadan, when you find yourself in a difficult situation before resorting to saying or doing anything you might regret, remind yourself of Allah’s love for those who are patient and seek His help through duas instead.

9. Those who follow the Prophet ﷺ

Say, [O Muhammad], “If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran 3:31)

The best way to strive to emulate the way of the Prophet ﷺ – and hence earn the love of Allah – is by engaging in actions he ﷺ has commanded us:

The Prophet ﷺ said, “The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or to remove one of his troubles, or to forgive his debt, or to feed his hunger. That I walk with a brother regarding a need is more beloved to me than that I seclude myself in this mosque in Medina for a month. Whoever swallows his anger, then Allah will conceal his faults. Whoever suppresses his rage, even though he could fulfil his anger if he wished, then Allah will secure his heart on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever walks with his brother regarding a need until he secures it for him, then Allah Almighty will make his footing firm across the bridge on the day when the footings are shaken.” [al-Muʻjam al-Awsaṭ 6/139]

“Free the captives, feed the hungry and pay a visit to the sick.” [Bukhari]

“He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbour goes hungry'” [Al-Albani]

“Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.” [Darussalam]

“Guard yourself from the Hellfire, even with half of a date in charity. If one cannot find it, then with a kind word.” [Bukhari]

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud said, ‘I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, “Which of the deeds is most beloved to Allah?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Performing the prayer at its prescribed, fixed time.” I asked, “What next?” He replied, “Dutifulness to the parents.” I asked, “What next?” He replied, “Jihad (striving) in the Cause of Allah.” Had I asked him for more, he would have told me.’ [Bukhari]

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “One of Prophet Dawud’s supplications was:

Allahumma inni as’aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wal-‘amalalladhi yuballighuni hubbaka. Allahumm-aj’al hubbaka ahabba ilayya min nafsi, wa ahli, wa minal-ma’il-baridi

O Allah! I ask You for Your Love, the love of those who love You, and deeds which will cause me to attain Your Love. O Allah! Make Your Love dearer to me than myself, my family and the cold water.” [At- Tirmidhi]

Whatever act you choose, we pray Allah makes it easy for you, accepts it from you and makes you among those who are beloved to Him. Ameen.

RAMADAN MUBARAK TO ALL FASTING MUSLIMS.

WHILE FESTUS KEYAMO AND CO ARE BUSY REWARDING BUHARI FOR THE MONEY, ONE VOICE NIGERIA REWARDS REAL PATRIOT FOR HIS TRUE INTEGRITY

ENGR. BUBA GALADIMA IS THE GRAND PATRON OF ONE VOICE NIGERIA.

Buba Galadima is a Nigerian politician who was appointed National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) party, formed in the run-up to the 2011 national elections as a leading platform for former military ruler General Muhammadu Buhari.

Background

Buba Galadima is an engineer by training, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University and hails from Gashua, Yobe State. He participated in the 1994/5 Constitutional Conference. Galadima was Director General of the Nigeria Maritime Authority (NMA) from 1996 to 1998.

Political careers.

During the Nigerian Fourth Republic, established in May 1999, Galadima became a chieftain of the leading opposition party, the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP). In June 2002 Galadima was interviewed on a proposal by President Olusegun Obasanjo to restructure local government in the country. He expressed his party's opposition to the move. He said that Obasanjo, "the usurper president of this country", was trying to sneak in the changes surreptitiously, giving state governors the right to appoint unelected officials to run the local governments, but also introducing Consultative Assemblies for regions and thus undermining the powers of the states.

On 29 April 2004 Galadima was arrested in Abuja by officers from the State Security Services (SSS). Amnesty International expressed concern that he was at risk of torture or ill-treatment. As chairman of the mobilization committee of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) Galadima had planned to be involved in an anti-government protest which took place on 3 May in Abuja and Lagos. He was released without charge on 13 May.

After the 21 April 2007 presidential election the Supreme Court heard various charges of impropriety. Buba Galadima, National Campaign Secretary of The Buhari Organisation (TBO), claimed that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was trying to frame Buhari with false claims about the sources of his campaign funding. He said the PDP was plotting "to take them [opposition leaders] out of circulation so that they can continue with their misdeeds against the Nigerian people unnoticed".

Ethnic violence broke out in Jos, Plateau State in November 2008, with the death toll rising above 350. Galadima called for a declaration of emergency rule in the state to stop the killing and maiming by thugs, who he said seemed to be armed by the state government. TBO called for an independent Judiciary Enquiry Panel to look into the cause of the crisis. In November 2009 Galadima said that if the government failed to reform the State Security Service (SSS),the result could be "chaotic, anarchic and violence prone 2011 elections". This repeated a statement made by SSS Director General Afakiriya Gadzama. The SSS arrested and interrogated Galadima on the grounds that his statement was a call for violent change.

He is one of the nine signatories that signed the merger agreement between the three political parties that came together, with a faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to form the All Progressives Congress (APC).

No politician has ever suffered the kind of calamities Engr Buba Galadima went through in the country, was arrested, detained and harassed for about 38 times. And He never changed, even under such a pitiable conditions, He stood his ground as a patriotic, loyal and honest democrat.

Engineer Buba Galadima, voiced his concerns over attempts to scheme out northern Christians from holding one of the presiding positions of the National Assembly, namely speaker of the House of the Representatives. Eventually, Members of the House of Representatives elected Hon Yakubu Dogara, who represents Bogoro/ Tafawa Balewa federal constituency in Bauchi state, as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly.

CPC Leadership

The Congress for Progressive Change originated in The Buhari Organization (TBO) formed in 2006 by General Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler of Nigeria, and his associates. After falling out with the ANPP, Buhari decided that he needed a new platform to support his political ambitions. The Congress for Progressive Change filed an application to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on 26 March 2009, and received official approval and registration on 28 December 2009. Galadima was appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of the CPC.

In October 2010 he accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of having lost the will to be truly independent. Stakeholders including the CPC and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) had agreed with proposals to use biometric data capturing machines for registration of voters and accreditation during the election, to hold all elections on one day and to move elections to April without changing the 29 May handover date. However, the INEC chairman Attahiru Jega had only submitted the last proposed change for ratification by the National Assembly.

On 12 December 2010 he said that anyone in the CPC who wanted to run for office should resign from the party's executive committees. The most senior people who would not be standing for election would take over to run the party. This was consistent with his opposition to a proposal by which Senators and member of the House of Representatives would automatically become members of the National Executive Committee of their party. While he said the decision was up to the parties, not a question of electoral law, he felt the move would be undemocratic since the elected politicians would look only to their own interests. In January 2011 Galadima was chosen as National Secretary of the CPC, with Prince Tony Momoh as chairman.

Following the Presidential election in April 2011, Galadima said the vote was rigged and the CPC would not accept the results until a complete audit had been conducted. The INEC had announced the Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP had won 22,495,187 votes, while Muhammadu Buhari of the CPC had won just 12,214,853. There were outbreaks of violence across Northern Nigeria after the elections, with many deaths. The "Northern Coalition for Democracy and Justice" announced that it had petitioned the International Court of Justice at the Hague to lay criminal charges against Buhari and Galadima for inciting the killings. The CPC in turn accused Goodluck Jonathan of using the violence to make political gains against the CPC.

Buba Galadima led the Kwankwasiyya campaign with a view to realizing the presidential ambition of Sen. Rabui Musah KWANKWASO. His presidential candidate lost the presidential primaries of the People’s Democratic Party helps in port Harcourt to Alh. Atiku Abubakar. It thus appears that Buba will work with Alh. Atiku against President Buhari in the forthcoming presidential elections in February 2019.

Engr Buba’s integrity is unfettered and One Voice Nigeria is poised to identify with him. Buba Galadima is the only patron so far appointed by OVN. We hope other Nigerians of similar integrity shall be so conferred in due course.

We thank Baba Buba for accepting our great honor.

POVERTY OF BUHARI

By Yakubu M. Jimba esq.

Reminiscing on 2014/15 reminds me of the character of leaderships that God has bestowed on the innocent souls of the Nigeria Nation. What has been different? It’s 2018, Buhari told same lies; Buhari is depleting the external reserves; Buhari still is selectively fighting corruption; Buhari still has to borrow to fund recurrent expenditures; Buhari still hasn’t built any hospital; Boko Haram still ravages our Army Barracks and annexes more lands in the north east of the country; there are no known economic policies of Buhari that are capable and reflective of the acclaimed “Change”; Buhari seem to sleep all days while his cronies governs.

It is unfortunate that in our very eyes, Buhari for fear of loosing 2019 commenced a process to deplete our reserve. Most pathetic is that, Buhari still wants to continue to rule over a nation he has drifted to the worst of poverty on earth, the worst of recession on earth; the worst morale on earth and made the most happy people on earth the most dissatisfied ever. Most painful is Buhari’s boldness to ask for my vote again.

The silence in our National oil company NNPC which Buhari promised to unbundle is frosted with unbridled corruption. These are soul blinding. Buhari is now actually the Nigeria most cantankerous warm that have humbled all Nigerians

THAT ALH ATIKU ABUBAKAR MUST SELL-2

Alarmed at my incoherent fears, my inks are eager to relate my thoughts as the love of my nation now oppresses my conscience in repeated vituperation. My dreams never lied just as I have learnt to respect them. The looming failure hates me if I dare sleep without printing my thinkings. I truly wish I can just vomit all of them just exactly as it pains me.

kindly prefer to our earlier plea for amendments or more particularly the plea for sleeping leadership for the “Atiku must sell” dream. It appears there is actually a reading lip and a listening ear. Thanks to whoever grabbed the last piece and appropriately responded. That truly propelled me to the next step.

It’s in their thoughts that Atikus leadership may simply be mosaics, nor is it expected to up-shoot a mesiah. Nigeria has been known to grow leadership who had by themselves, at twist of faith, manhandled even their own man/womanhoods. Who are you to question the nigerian horible status. Whereas the failure to ask questions in the past is the bane of our current dilemmas. Here, it's our believe that the onerous task for now is to remove the Czar and his colossus bestriding the Nigerian nations and destroying all our hitherto collective gains. To these extents we must continue to strive for the real ultimate Change

THE R&S APPROACH:-
Very well known is a process of climbing steps essentially to all those that own storey buildings or duplexes. A supervenient organogramme is within every little knowledge of any soul propelled to succeed. In other words and in same veil, get a bucket tied to a rope to fetch water from a well no matter how deep. Thus any disconnect will never get you to the next rooms in the storey nor shall the well water be available till the ends of time. The Ropes and Steps must get to the last, the last of the very last tied to one destination and objective without discrimination howsoever. The longer the ropes and Steps the more our voters and votes to garner. The purpose of the Rope and Steps (R&S) approach is to create Responsibilities and Relevance (R2) for every believer in Atiku dream for the ultimate realisation of project. If achieved the R2 will bind and intertwined the nation into a brotherhood with a further enhancement of the realisation of a practicable and realisable approach to fare share of democratic dividends in the line of R&S approach. This approach requires an in-depth explanation.

The R&S approach must be fixed from the lowest and farthest of individuals to our hamlets and kindreds all connected to the NEXT president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Alh. ATIKU ABUBAKAR, a disconnect is at our nations peril, at our personal peril, at the peril of our Atikulated Atiku. That is not our portion -

THAT ALH. ATIKU ABUBAKAR MUST SELL

By Yakubu M. Jimba Esq

We sent the name "BUHARI" to the lowest of the low and the highest of the high. It was our mission in 2015 to accomplish. In a catalytic rejection, himself had cried and gave up all hopes. To him all was gone. The waters of the seas and trees of the forests were ecapsulated by the might of good will that the heavens unleashed when the Buhari ideal was time and ripen - it was the result of our vast efforts. We said every good thing and sold even the worst, because we had good positioning, the lowest of the low who are the real voters accepted the rotten eggs and he became the fourth Nigerian President under the new chequered democracy of my beloved nation. Since then Nigerians has been in for a shocker. Regrets mounts in the brains and the lips of the workers of the 'Buhari grace'. The grace that Nigerians have not been able to access four years running. In all we took Buhari to the deepest of the deep such that even the lonely angels sang the song "Baba oyoyo". But that was how we all hacked our destiny on an unknown man.

Mercilessly, Nigerians have out gone mediaeval Buharism. To truly realise this, I am not in the know of any factor on ground to outreach and overcome the dept of our service to our dear nation, by extension to the almighty Buhari. That is to say the least that the phrasal level of the Abubakar Atiku's campaign has not been honeyed or salted enough to unravel the mysterious dept that we all have been challenged to counter. We will only attempt to address one leg of the issue at the moment.

Categorically, our dept must if possible involve getting every believer in at maximum level of performance without any high headedness. Permit us to say that, at the moment, all Atiku's appointees for the realisation of his presidential dream are very distant and highly unreachable by the true lovers of the "New change". They are elites who have never truly felt the exact pain of the Nigerian mass. With certainty we make bold to say that they are never capable of delivering the dept that is capable of uprooting Buharism. In the issue that must be known, the real voters would rather want to be paid for votes if Sen. Olusola Saraki is in the prominent lead. How many voters shall we be able to buy? If we must succeed, Sen. Saraki and Co must lead the campaign from the rear possibly unseen. The plethora of grassroots leaders and mobilisers which are unending in supply must be tapped any how and encourage to head the crusade of the new change. These grassroots mobilisers must be trained quickly on use of particular words eg "Atikulate" is not in the lips of the mass voters. We must stay on "Atiku" which is the word and name the ordinary voters already know and used to.

To allow a front prominence of Sen. Saraki, David mark etc in the new "Change the Change" agenda would amount to building an uncontrollable tsunami in the 2019 elections and we will all be bewildered at the catastropy
To be continued.
