Incredible news!

Ingeborg and Erwin Hochmair have been awarded the prestigious 2026 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, which is awarded to nine engineers who have pioneered the design and development of modern neural interfaces that restore human function.

The MED-EL founders and cochlear implant pioneers have transformed thousands of lives through their groundbreaking work since 1975, when they started developing the world's first microelectronic cochlear implant.

Honored to host the International Temporal Bone & Hearing Implant Surgical Dissection Course in Tanzania from 24–26 January 2026.

The course was officially opened by Dr. Delilah Kimambo, Executive Director of Muhimbili National Hospital, and enriched with hands-on practical sessions led by Prof. Zdenek Cada, mentor surgeon and lecturer, alongside Soren Jetzinger, Senior Clinical Engineer at MED-EL.
