Rural Health Mission Nigeria Transforms FACILITY IN Munchika Community, Fika LGA, Yobe State.
For years, over 10,000 residents of Munchika community in Fika LGA lived without access to a standard Primary Health Care facility. Women walked long distances for antenatal care. Children fell sick from unsafe water. Open defecation was common, putting the entire community at risk of cholera and other preventable diseases.
Today, that story is changing.
Rural Health Mission Nigeria stepped in, and the progress so far has been remarkable:
Solar-powered boreholes: Construction is now almost complete. Soon, Munchika will have reliable access to clean, safe water all year round no more depending on unsafe streams or walking miles under the sun.
Standard toilet facilities: We have provided modern, hygienic toilets to end open defecation and promote dignity, especially for women, girls, and school children.
Foundation for better health: With water and sanitation in place, we’re laying the groundwork for stronger PHC services. A healthy community starts with clean water and safe sanitation.
What’s next? We remain committed to working with the people of Munchika, the Fika LGA authorities, and our partners to ensure a fully functional PHC facility becomes a reality.
To our donors, volunteers, and supporters thank you. You are the reason Munchika’s story is changing from “without” to “within reach.”
Together, we’re building healthier rural communities, one step at a time.
