A call for partnerships in support of blindness prevention in our local communities

Regal Eye Hospital foundation brings you greetings. We are a non-governmental organization focused on reducing the burden of blindness in our communities. We are duly registered with the federal republic of Nigeria, and the corporate affairs commission (RN.7218322). This non-profitable organization, is purely humanitarian in composition and services.
In this month of February, 2025, we carried out a free screening exercise/basic treatments, in a community located in Kogi State.

The number of people blinded from preventable causes were overwhelming. Most of them were blind in both eyes and led by either their young children or spouses.

Top on the list was cataract (80%), then pterygium. Other causes included glaucoma, cornea scars and various retinopathies. It was so disheartening to realize that, these patients were indigent, hoping that, someday, their help would come.

Except that help comes quickly, chances are high that this population will be confined to poverty due to loss of economic power and the cascading effects, till death.

Regal eye hospital foundation is in the business of restoring sights lost to preventable conditions, through partnerships.
Our team of dedicated professionals, and mobile surgical equipment, are always ready to respond when called upon or supported by individuals and corporate entities with interests in community services.

We have carried out free eye camps in Nasarawa, FCT and Kogi State with our limited resources. The experiences were both rewarding and gratifying. We wish to do more as the need has kept expanding. The difference here is that, we do it ourselves, not contracting it out to a third party.
We have a waiting population of over 300 people needing surgical intervention in just one community, in Kogi right now. In fact, this is the tip of the iceberg, as many kept coming after we had left, seeking attention.
Our resources are limited and the demand is quite high, hence the need for these partnerships. Together, we can do much more.

The joy that follows sight restoration for just one person, is unlimited and so is the reward for whoever makes it possible.
The aim is to ensure no one goes needlessly blind while we can still do something.
Attached are some photos and videos of recent outreaches.
