The burial arrangement for DMC’s Director of Clinical Services - Late Dr. Joshua Daniel Usman.

DMC’s Director of Clinical Services- Dr. Joshua Daniel Usman is dead.

He died at 12.57pm, Thursday, 5th June 2025 at the Intensive Care Unit of DIFF Medical Centre, Gudu, Abuja.

He was born Sixty-Five Years ago on 20th August, 1960. He hailed from Maiduguri Metropolitan Area of Borno State. He was employed into DIFF Concept eighteen years ago as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist on Friday, 23rd November 2007.

He was appointed as the Pioneer Chairman of DIFF Hospital’s Medical Practice Committee on the 15th of April, 2008. Upon the decentralization program of DIFF Concept on the 1st of January 2020, he became the Medical Director of Dr. Joshua Usman’s Clinic; a semi-autonomous entity within DIFF Medical Centre.

He also became DMC’s Director of Clinical Services and Chairman, Clinical Practice Committee. He rose through the ranks to become a Chief Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (Special Grade).

He was a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, Fellow of International College of Surgeons, Member of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and Member, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

He was a faithful ally, a loyal deputy, an excellent Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, a brother in Christ. He was often referred to as Daddy by many staff of DIFF Concept. He supported many staff of DIFF Concept with his financial resources. Inspite of his workload in the hospital, he happily attended the social programs of members of DIFF Concept. He served as Bestman at my wedding to my Jewel of Inestimable Value (JIV), 33 years ago on the 15th of February, 1992.

He is survived by his wife- Nangi Usman and four children (Three females and One male). His first daughter is called Bernice. She is a Medical Doctor at DMC. His second daughter is called Joana. She is writing her final examination to qualify as a Medical Doctor from the University of Jos. His third child and only Son, Jeremiah is a Final year Civil Engineering student at Nile University, Abuja. The last child and Daughter, Sharon is Twenty-One Years old. She graduated as a Lawyer in May 2024.

What a colossus. Truly, it is not how long, but how well.

An outstanding star within the DIFF Concept has joined the saints triumphant to fade away like the stars of the morning. We submit to the will of God. We submit to the Sovereignty of God. We attest to the faithfulness of God. We are grateful to God for giving Joshua Daniel Usman to DIFF Concept for the past eighteen years. So, we release him back to His maker,
to His God and to our God. God be with Dr. Joshua Daniel Usman till we meet again at the feet of Jesus Christ.

Funeral arrangement will be announced by his family and DIFF Chapel.

A condolence register has been opened at the reception areas in Block A and Block B for anyone who is interested to write a brief tribute. At an appropriate time, the two condolence registers will be delivered to his family with the hope that it will assuage the feelings of their irreparable loss.

May the good Lord grant his family, Members of DIFF Chapel and Members of DMC Community the fortitude to bear the loss.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
