WELLNESS TIPS...
Yet another force of nature to reckon with.π₯°πππ Before you absolutely bench the idea of incorporating this awesome nature's gift into your regular routine, please consider the few points belowπππ;
GARLIC is a plant in the Allium family (same as Onion). It grows in many parts of the world and is a popular ingredient in cooking due to its strong smell (aroma) and the unique taste it adds to meals. It complements most savory dishes, particularly soups and sauces. Its strong taste can add a punch to otherwise bland recipes and is easy to introduce to your diet. Each segment of a Garlic Bulb is called a Clove. There are about 10β20 cloves in a single bulb, give or take. Garlic comes in several forms, from whole cloves & smooth pastes to powders & supplements such as Garlic Extract and Garlic Oil.
*Some Proven Health BENEFITS OF GARLIC
1. Garlic contains compounds with potent medicinal properties. Scientists now know that most of its health benefits are caused by sulfur compounds formed when a garlic clove is chopped, crushed or chewed. Perhaps the most famous of these is known as Allicin which is only briefly present in fresh garlic after itβs been cut or crushed. It also contains sulfur compounds as well. The active compounds in Garlic in high doses appear to reduce high blood pressure (hypertension) and cardiovascular diseases (heart attack & stroke) known as the world's biggest killer diseases. It also improves the cholesterol level in the body.
2. Garlic is rich in certain nutrients and has very few calories. Decent amounts of Manganese, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Calcium, Copper, Potassium, Phosphorus, Iron & Vitamin B1 etc can be found in it. More like a little bit of almost everything you need is therein. Consuming Garlic can help detoxify heavy metals in the body. At high doses, the sulfur compounds in Garlic have been shown to protect against organ damage from heavy metal toxicity. It also reduces many clinical signs of toxicity, including headaches.
3. Garlic can combat certain sicknesses including Common Cold. Adding garlic to your diet may be worth attempting if you often get colds.
Garlic supplements help prevent and reduce the severity of such. Hence, why it is used to boost the function of the immune system. It contains antioxidants that may help prevent Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia & oxidative damage from free radicals which contribute to the aging process.
4. Garlic can basically help you live longer given its many beneficial effects on important risk factors to the body. The fact that it can help fight some infectious disease is also amazing considering a good number of these are common causes of death, especially in the elderly or people with dysfunctional immune systems. It was traditionally used in ancient cultures to reduce fatigue and enhance the work capacity of laborers. Some studies suggest that exercise-induced fatigue may be reduced with Garlic intake.
5. Garlic can improve one's bone health because of its beneficial effects on osteoarthritis patients which it does by increasing estrogen levels particularly in females.
NOTE;
However, keep in mind that there are some downsides to using Garlic, such as bad breath (induced halitosis if chewed directly) & body ordor which is usually a major deterrent for many. We'd be happy to share a few tips that could help curb this concern if still interested in using Galic but have this as major concern (just leave us a brief comment in our DM). ππ
Then there is also a substantial population of some who maybe allergic to it. If you have a bleeding disorder or are currently taking any blood-thinning medications, discuss with your doctor before increasing your Garlic intake as it as well deals with avoiding blood clotting in the veins or arteries that could lead to possible heart attack etc by thinning the blood.
