Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria - MDCN

Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria - MDCN MDCN is the regulatory agency for the Medical and Dental professions. It also regulates alternative medicine.

The Council was first established as the Nigerian Medical Council by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act, passed by the Federal Parliament on 18th December 1963. It became the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria following the enactment of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Decree 23 of August 1988 which repealed the 1963 Act an renamed the Council. The Decree was amended by Decree 78 of S

eptember 1992. With the coming to force of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, it became the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act. The Act is listed as Cap M8 in the compilation of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria LFN 2004.
