December is here. The last stretch of the year, the soft landing, the deep breath everyone has been waiting for. This month we’re coming with a mix of gratitude, reflection and a quiet push to finish strong in whatever way you can.

Welcome to December🤗

We hosted students from Longford International School on November 25th. And these brilliant minds asked better questions than even some adults do.

One wanted to know if our ICU nurses ever get scared during emergencies. Someone else asked how much math you actually need for surgery (answer: way more than he wanted to hear)😆

Our doctors didn’t have rehearsed answers ready for some of these questions. That’s how you know the questions are good.

That’s why we do these visits.
Thanks for coming, Longford students.
We’re rooting for you.

Antibiotic resistance isn’t some distant problem. It’s already here.
In 2019, drug-resistant infections caused 1.27 million deaths and played a part in almost 5 million. That’s not a small number. That’s a global health system choking on a problem we helped create.

Misuse and overuse of antibiotics in humans, animals and even crops keep making germs stronger. Low and middle income countries take the hardest hit because limited access to care makes the consequences heavier.

The scary part is that AMR puts routine medicine at risk. A simple surgery, a caesarean section or even chemotherapy becomes far more dangerous when antibiotics stop working.

So:
Take all medications as prescribed.
Take the entire course of prescribed antibiotics, even if you feel better.
Don’t take antibiotics if you don’t need them.

Use antibiotics wisely. Protect yourself. Protect everyone.

Today was a proud moment for our very own Medical Director, Dr. Olalekan Olatise.
From standing with the next generation of medical doctors at the University of Abuja’s induction ceremony to receiving the Distinguished Award of Excellence, it was a reminder of what steady work and impact look like.

The award recognized the support given toward strengthening the College of Health Sciences and improving its infrastructure for accreditation.
It wasn’t done for applause, but it’s good to see the effort create real change.

Congratulations to our MD. This is what leadership in healthcare should feel like.

International Men’s Day shows up once a year to remind us of something we often skip past. Men carry a lot, even when they pretend everything is fine. They deal with pressure to be strong, steady, unshaken, and half the time they’re figuring things out on the go like everyone else.

Today is about celebrating their strength, but it’s also about acknowledging their health, their mental wellbeing, and the fact that support isn’t a weakness. It’s a lifeline.
So to the men in our lives, from fathers to brothers to friends, we appreciate you. Your presence matters. Your health matters. Your joy matters.

Happy International Men’s Day. 💙

Beyond the stats let’s talk awareness in this moment. Diabetes comes in different forms, but the story is the same. When the body can’t use insulin well or stops making enough of it, blood sugar climbs and things start to shift.

We wrapped up World Radiography Day and the International Day of Radiology with a room full of people who came to learn, unlearn, ask the right questions, and push for better patient care. Our speakers broke down real issues like equipment downtime, the way it slows diagnosis and treatment, and how AI is stepping into radiology without replacing the people who make the work human.

The energy in the room felt hopeful and filled with progressive thinking. You could tell everyone shared the same goal: safer imaging, faster diagnosis, and better outcomes for patients. Moments like this remind us why these conversations matter.

Here’s a quick recap of a day that pushed us forward. 💙

Celebrating World Radiography Day & International Day of Radiology! ✨

Today, we came together to honor the brilliance, precision, and dedication that power medical imaging. Radiography is the bridge between technology and healing.
Our event featured engaging discussions led by experts who shed light on two key areas shaping the future of radiology:

🩻 Downtime of Radiologic Equipment to explore how equipment maintenance, calibration, and workflow management directly affect diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and service delivery.

⚫️AI in Radiology; a look into how artificial intelligence is transforming image analysis, supporting faster diagnosis, and helping radiologists make more confident decisions.

The sessions highlighted how radiology sits at the intersection of science, technology, and compassion. When machines rest, patient care slows but with innovation and teamwork, we keep the system running and improving every day.

Here’s to every radiographer, radiologist, and imaging specialist who brings clarity to care and light to medicine. Your work helps save lives quietly but powerfully.

A special highlight of the day was the unveiling of new thyroid shields- another step forward in improving radiation safety for both patients and healthcare professionals. Protecting those who protect others is part of our commitment to safer, smarter radiology practices.

Happy World Radiography Day to the people who help us see what the body is trying to hide. The scans, the images, the confirmations, the clarity we depend on in healthcare all start with you.

Radiographers give patients calm in those cold rooms, guide them through uncomfortable moments, and help the entire medical team make the right call with the right picture.

To every radiographer, thank you for the patience and the heart you bring into those imaging rooms. Healthcare isn’t complete without you.
