Preconception Counseling (PCC)
⚫️ Preconception Counseling is a process of getting couples mentally and emotionally ready for their pregnancy journey. The things they need to know, do and avoid before and during their pregnancy journey.
⚫️This process is mainly for couples who are planning on having children. Also for couples who is having issues conceiving.
⚫️PCC is a journey that should be embarked on as early as 6months before attempting to conceive.
⚫️During this process your health provider will counsel you on the following;
☑️Drugs to take and avoid
☑️Diet, certain foods help boost the chances of conceiving early.
☑️Weight
☑️Medical Screening
☑️Pre-existing medical illness
☑️Genetic Counseling and many more.

Aseptic procedures are essential in the labor room to:
1. It prevents the spread of infections to mother and baby. A clean and sterile environment prevents the transfer of infections through germs to the birth canal, blood stream or uterus during delivery.
2. Safeguard the newborn: Averts neonatal sepsis, which may arise if germs are introduced during childbirth.
3.Minimize cross-contamination: Limits the transmission of pathogens among patients, staff, and equipment in a high-risk setting. Childbirth exposes open tissues and blood vessels, so maintaining sterile practices ensures the safety of both mother and baby.

7️⃣ Excessive/sudden swelling of the face, hands and feet
8️⃣ Dizziness and vision changes
9️⃣ High grade fever
