Family planning (FPC)
Ante natal clinic (ANC)

FPC, includes counseling as to the most suitable device to use, to meet the needs of the client.

ANC- for assessment of mother and baby
Regular monitoring & advice, do tests and treat as needed
Make the pregnancy as smooth as possible, and provide safe deliveries.

FAST = signs of a possible stroke
F-facial drooping
A-arm or leg weakness
S-speech difficulties including slurring
T-time, rush the patient to hospital

FAST is an acronym used as a mnemonic to help early recognition and detection of the signs and symptoms of a stroke. The acronym stands for Facial drooping, Arm (or leg) weakness, Speech difficulties and Time to call emergency services.[1]

Presentation:
Incubation period is 24-48 hours
sudden onset of painless, profusely watery diarrhea
vomiting, abdominal cramps
dehydration
sometimes no symptoms are seen
The stool has a rice water appearance

Treatment:
1. Rehydration, IV fluids & ORS (oral rehydration solution)
2. Antibiotics
3. Diet
Prevention
provision of good sources of water
Monitor for signs of outbreaks
good sanitation, food safety & hygiene is necessary

Cholera is an infection of the intestine caused by the bacteria Vibrio cholerae.
it’s characterized by profuse watery stools.
Although it can be mild the severe type can cause dehydration and even death within hours.
It is transmitted by the feco-oral route.
Meaning that where there open defecation
rain can carry this into streams and other sources of water. Resulting in spread of the disease.
Food prepared with such water also becomes contaminated.
