Why does s***m leak after in*******se?
First, you need to know that S***m and semen are not the same thing.
S***matazoa, or s***m, is the name given to the reproductive cell that fertilizes the o**m inside the womanβs body. Seminal fluid is the liquid that the s***m swims in. Together they form semen (that is s***m plus seminal fluid form semen).
S***m cells make up only about 1% to 5% of male ej*****te by volume. The remaining 95%+ of ej*****ted seminal fluid is there to help propel, feed, and protect those precious s***m cells while they seek an egg to fertilize.
Ej*****te (the stuff that comes out when a man ej*****tes) is made up of a lot of different things. One of its components is s***m. In a normal male ej*****te, there are anywhere between 20 and 400 million s***m. All you need to get pregnant is one s***m.
The very act of ej*******on causes something like a suction process where the s***m is sucked into the fallopian tube and on its way to the o**m or egg.
βFlow-backβ, a process where s***m fluid comes out of the va**na after in*******se is a very normal occurrence which often goes unnoticed until a couple is trying to get pregnant. The fact that semen is leaking out afterwards, doesn't decrease your chances of conceiving.
Women are advised to ideally lay flat for 15 minutes after s*x which will give the s***m time to swim through the cervical canal - the first leg of their journey to reach the egg.
